Serie A: Inter Milan defeat AC Milan to clinch 20th title

Inter Milan’s 2-1 win over rivals, AC Milan on Monday, have seen them confirmed as Serie A champions for a 20th time.

Francesco Acerbi’s header gave the Nerazzurri a first-half lead.

Marcus Thuram’s finish after the break saw Inter extend their lead at the San Siro.

Although Milan grabbed a late goal through Fikayo Tomori, it was only a mere consolation.

Tempers boiled over in the closing stages of the Derby, as Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria were sent off for AC Milan, while Denzel Dumfries was dismissed for Inter.

But Simone Inzaghi’s side have now established an unassailable 17-point lead over their second-placed city rivals with five fixtures left.
