V.P Sambo Congratulates El-Rufai, Urges Gov-elect To Take Kaduna To Greater Heights

Vice President Namadi Sambo on Monday, called the governor-elect of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to congratulate him on his victory at the just concluded governorship election.


The spokesperson for Mr. El-Rufai’s campaign organization, Samuel Aruwan, who disclosed this in a statement, added that Governor Ramalan Yero, who contested and lost the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, also wrote an official congratulatory message to the governor-elect. The congratulatory letter came on the heels of the governor’s call on Sunday to concede victory to the APC candidate.


Mr. El-Rufai scored 1,117,635 to defeat Mr. Yero, who polled 485, 833.

Mr. Sambo, according to the statement, wished the governor-elect a successful tenure in office and urged him to use his wealth of experience for the peace and development of Kaduna state and Nigeria at large.


Mr. Sambo further appealed to the citizens of the state to give maximum support and cooperation to Mr. El-Rufai.


Mr. Sambo also tasked the incoming governor to work hard in taking the state to greater heights.
