Forgive me, I always get carried away when talking about my lovely moments but, the truth is just like we all can’t count God’s blessings in our Lives so, would it take me decades to count all my lovely days with Sharon.

We had a lot of misunderstandings and quarrels but Sharon and I only fought once and she was the one that made me vow never to touch a lady again. We had our only fight in our Jss2 first term. Few weeks after resumption, she always informed me that my pride keeps growing by the day.
We had started disregarding the Ss3 and Sharon wasn’t happy about it neither was chidimma. They always tried to preach me out of the crowd. Sharon always made sure I had lesser time with the Outlawz so as not to get my self into a fight if there should be any. That Headboy also started having chitchats with Sharon every now and then which makes me jealous but, Sharon did understand and she would excuse herself when ever she saw me staring at them. She’d also tell me what they were talking About. Funny thing is I never ask her about this, neither did I ever tell her I was jealous whenever they are together. Maybe the headboy’s words had started changing her because that term she limited her coziness around me. We still hugged sometimes but, that her cuddling and wrapping around me all the time lessened greatly.

It was on a Friday, just as the break started. I wanted to go out with the Outlawz but she refused.

“You are not going nowhere till I’m ready to go with you”. She said dragging me by my sports top.

” Why don’t you join me outside later?”. I pleaded but she ignored me. Chidimma walked up to us smiling.
“It wouldn’t be all wrong if we all stayed back in class”. She said and I glared at her then she laughed.

” You know that’s really a good idea”. Sharon said and left my cloth then folded her hands, I shook my head in protest.
“What? I’ve got my pancakes and a juice”. She said.

” No not today. I almost threw up when I ate it yesterday”. I lied and she obviously knew.
“What about my noodles? we all know how much you love it”. Chidimma added and I grunted.

“Well maybe you Haven’t noticed. I recently started hating noodles too”. I lied again and they both laughed then Sharon grabbed my shirt.
” you can lie all you want. this is the best offer youto get “. she said mockingly. they both held on to me till I gave up.
“Fine you win”. I groaned and they both jumped up. We got eating soon, first we ate chidimma’s noodles and drank her happy hour juice then we jumped into Sharon’s pancakes. The form mistress sent for chidimma and she left leaving just me and Sharon to eat the pancakes. since she wouldn’t let me go for break, I decided to have a little fun class. I picked the “dudu” juice she came with and ran then she chased after me. we ran around the class a little then a ball flew and hit our class window. I peeped out and saw that our class were about to play a match with the B class. Sharon came and grabbed my shirt again.

“Sharon please just let me play with our class”. I pleaded and she refused.
” No we’d stay back in class that was the deal “. she said and I Frowned.
“Deal?You know I never agreed to that”. I said feigning anger.
” I don’t care!”. She said and threw away her face.

“Is just to play football. Cherry, nothing else”. I pleaded but she said nothing. So, I just dragged her hand off my shirt and returned to my seat without saying a word, I picked her dudu juice and hurled it at her direction. She opened it, sipped a little then came to feed me with it but, I acted like she wasn’t even there. I needed to let her think I was mad at her.
” so, you’re angry now huh?”. She asked but I said nothing. She tried making me laugh, tickling my body but I ignored her through it then, she sighed and gave up.
“Alright am sorry”. She pleaded but I still said nothing, meanwhile deep inside I was smiling because my plan was working.
” Fine, you can go”. She said and I waited for her to repeat it then she did. I sprang up immediately smiling then patted her jaw.
“That’s my girl”. I said and made to leave then she held me back.

“Which is?”. I asked her.
” I’ll go with you “. She said and I laughed.
” Are you also going to play football with us?”. I asked her mockingly and she shrugged.

“If it comes to that”. She said and stood up.
” suit yourself “. I said to her as I ran out and she trailed behind.
” yes? Yes? Put me for this game!”. I yelled as I ran into the field. I shook hands with my class boys, once I reached where they were selecting their players.
“Oh boy na Smith dey play 9 today oh”. Captain said to me. They always chose smith ahead of me in the team because of my selfishness. I turned to leave then Kelvin asked me to wait, he spoke with captain a little then came back to me.
” is your girl playing too”. He asked looking behind me and I turned to see her behind me.
“You should ask her”. I replied as we both faced her, then she sighed and went to the stands.

” jekwu is injured so you can take the right wing, if you want”. He offered and I shrugged.

“Do I have a choice?”. I ran to my position.
The match soon started, it didn’t take long for them to score us after a defensive blunder from Bully and Melody. They still pressed us further after that and I wasn’t seeing so much of the ball. Knowing that Sharon was watching me I always try to show off my best skills but today I had touched the ball just twice in my role. Kelvin soon freed up captain for a counter, he play the long ball to me to fort on. It was just me and smith to beat their four man defence. I played a quick one-two with Smith to beat the first guy then I dribbled the second one myself. Smith was expecting to receive the ball again because he was free but, I had other plans. I wouldn’t let him score just like that, I was going to take on the last two myself. I’d succeeded in dribbling the third now facing the fourth then I mistakenly stepped on the ball and it threw me off balance whilst the last man cleared the ball. I could hear smith curse under his breath and captain yelling at me for my selfishness.

Kelvin soon equalised for us through a corner and captain gave us the lead through a Free kick which I won with my selfish dribbling. We were still celebrating the second goal when five of our class girls led Sarah the Lord of gossips ran into the field heading towards me. They came dragged me by my hands and started pulling me quickly towards the classroom areas, I restrained to know what they were up to.

“It’s Sharon. You have to come now”. Sarah said and my heart flew immediately. I looked at the stands where she stood before and she wasn’t there, and I started imagining the worst. I pulled my self from their hands and sped off into the class immediately, and Kelvin followed. Getting into the class, I saw almost all our class girls surrounding Sharon’s desk singing their “sorry” songs. Once they saw me they made way for me to enter, then I saw Sharon, she la!d her head on ugochi’s shoulder. She’s been crying since because her eyes and face had turned red.
