Adaeze finally left that afternoun.after i was through packing my stuffs.i went outside to greet john the palace chief driver.


ME.john john.howfar how you dey na.
JOHN.aah!oga mi chidi.odimma o.(fine).
ME.you dey enjoy na.anything for your boy.
JOHN.nothing dey o.unless you go smoke.
ME.aah.i no dey smoke na.abi you know no.
JOHN.i no i am just teasing you.don’t wory tomorrow we go go that madam sadine’s restuarant go chop nkwobi and anu ewu(goat meat).


ME.chai!i for like am ooh.but i dey go tomorrow.

JOHN.so you want leaves us go like that.
ME.i done try na.i wan go see my people.i fit come back to see you people any time.
JOHN.ok na.don’t wory dis evening.we go go the restaurant instead of tomorrow.
ME.no wahala na you sure pass.john john.nothing do you (i hailed him).

Around 7pm john and i went to the restuarant.not too far from the palace.i orderd for bush meat with fresh palm wine(i really like bush meat) while john orderd for anu ewu(goat meat) with beer.i ate and drank to my satisfaction.like wise john.john settle the bill.we were just relaxing at the restuarant.withing me i was very happy but i don’t know why.maybe because i was goin home or what i had in mind to tell Adaeze.i have finally made up my mind to let the cat out of the bag for Adaeze.i can’t hide it any more is killing me. John voice brought me back from my thought.


JOHN.so oga chidi.you talk say you dey go tomorrow na.

ME.yes o.my broda.
JOHN.you wan go empty handed like that?.

JOHN.i mean say.upon all those beautiful maids wey full for that palace you know go carry one go.

JOHN.yes na.you see that maid for palace wey them they call NKECHI.that fine maid wey fair.

JOHN.the other day.as i dey pass.i hear as she dey discused with one of the maid.she come they tell the maid say she likes you very much.but you no dey cut eyes for were she dey.(i remember each time i walked passed her.she always smiled at me.some times she will asked me if am hungry.that she cooked for me.i always told her that am okay.i never knew that she has other things in mind.but the girl is beautiful i must conffess.).

JOHN.yes o.if you like her.i will just arrange her for you.trust me na.you fit even carry am go tomorrow.

ME.Princess Adaeze na.she is the one i want.
John was silent for some seconds.before he burst to loud laughter.which attract the attention of other customers at the restuarant.and he said.

JOHN.you sure say you are okay.when last did you take your malaria medicine last?i get some medicine if you want i go give you.so that this your headache go reduce.

ME.(suprise)how do you mean john?.i don’t have any malaria sickness for my body na.
JOHN.na lie joor. u get malaria.because na only people wey get malaria fit dey think this kind thing wey you just think now.how you think say you fit get a whole princess of OKWE kingdom.my brother na only for film wey it fit happen.not for this our plannet earth o.

It was almost 9.30pm We left the restaurant to the palace.immediately we got to the palace.i went to my room.and dialled Adaeze’s number.the phone rang for some seconds before she finally picked the call.the first thing she asked me was.
ADAEZE.chidi were are you na.

ME.in my room.(i answerd)erm.please can i see you for some minutes.i have important thing to tell you. (she told me. she will be in my room shortly.
