Dara stood up and rushed to stand infront of her mom with tears in her face. “you are not a good mother! You don’t spend time with me, you don’t talk to me like a good mother should. Ade cleaned his sweaty face with his palms as he found a place to sit at the reception. ” you just have to get married to her o! ”” don’t be ridiculous mom, you and I know that I can’t date her so why are you suddenly pushing this? ” he heard his momsob and was talking with tears stricken voice. ” it’s not my fault o………. If you don’t get married to her the video would be exposed and I might end up going to jail and your dad will end up divorcing me”. Ade sprang up like he had just been injected.

What video”?Martha blew her nose into the brown handkerchief the woman sitting beside her in the Bus, sneered at her in disgust. Martha turned away her face to the window, she hissed her life was a completemess she thought. She wondered if she was cursed cause evil always roamed about her. She remembered the day she went to Blessing’s stores and when the unwise attendant had given her money, food, phone number and address of Blessing’s house.

She had been attacked by two haggard robbers they had collected her money and had took turns in sleeping with her as if that was not enough, they had cleaned her womanhood with a piece of cloth and absconded. She had been lucky enough to get a job in a yogurt factory as a cleaner and lucky enough to share a room with a nice lady that works in a brothel. She smiled sadly, looking at the address on the paper, she wasn’t even sure if it was Blessing’s house, she just wanted to know cause she wanted to find Theophilus.

She blamed herself for not knowing Blessing’s house initially. She opened her eyes and dragged her heavy self down the bus, she held on to her only black bag in the world like her life depended on it. the gown she wore was the only knee length gown that still gave her fitting all her other clothes were too big for her as she had grown thinner and darker as a result of malnutrition, Her once nice figure 8 had become a straight figure the only thing that never decreased we her boobs.
