Anne looked at Stacey with her excited face and happy attitude. She wondered when she was ever going to get this happy.

After saying all she had to say, Stacey looked at her watch and said: “Elder sister, I’ll take my leave then, it’s getting quite late. I’ll see you some other time.”

When Antonio returned from work, he realized that there was something wrong with Anne. She didn’t look her normal self, and she had gotten back to her old ways of asking to be taken back home. But Antonio didn’t think much of this.

A few days after this incidence, Antonio took Anne to the hospital. She thought they were going for a general check-up but it turned out to be something else. She was lying on the examination table when the doctor came to her and said:
“Miss, I hope you are ready for the surgery now?”

She was startled to hear that. she screamed in panic,” What surgery, I am not here for a surgery, I do not want to do any surgery”
“Antonio! Where is that b-----d? What are you trying to do to my baby?” She tried to get down from the examination table.

The doctor looked at her and said “Do not be scared, the surgery wouldn’t take long. And there is no need for you to worry, you are in safe hands”

“I do not want the surgery, I want to keep my baby.” She continued screaming.

The doctor tried to calm her down.” if we don’t have the C-section right now, we may not be able to save you or the baby. The baby is in critical condition right now and wouldn’t be able to make it for the 8 months as earlier stipulated”

Anne calmed down for a bit…” So you’re not here to abort the baby?”

A bit confused, the doctor explained “of course not, you are not going to abort this baby. Antonio is very concerned about your health and that of the baby. He arranged for this surgery so we can save both you and the baby”

Then Anne suddenly remembered what Stacey had told her, Antonio was going to get a surrogate mother for her. So this is what Antonio came here do? To take her baby and give to Stacey?

She started screaming again
No! No!

“I will not have this surgery. I want to leave now.”

“Miss, we can’t allow you to do that, Antonio gave us strict instructions”
She still continued to struggle to leave the operating room. The doctor had no other choice than to inject her with anaesthesia. She finally quietened down and drifted off into unconsciousness, all this while faintly mumbling to herself “I hate you Antonio, I hate you!”
