While Anne enjoyed her sleep, Antonio moved his chair closer to the bed, and with a cotton swab dabbed in water, he wet her dry lips with it.

“Antonio,” a voice came from the doorway.
Antonio turned to look, and it was Stacey standing at the door. Antonio scowled as Stacey walked into the room.

“Is my sister okay?” she asked.
Antonio quietly stood up and said, “Let’s talk outside, I don’t want us to wake her up.”


He walked right past Stacey, leaving her to follow suit. She looked at Anne lying peacefully asleep on the bed and her eyes were filled with pure hatred. She then turned to follow Antonio outside.

“Antonio, when is my sister going to wake up? And how is the baby? Is it a girl or boy?”
He took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it and inhaled deeply before asking her, “Why are you here? And how did you know Anne was in this hospital?”


“I heard my sister had given birth so I decided to come and see her. I got to know of it from mum and dad. They couldn’t come themselves so they asked me to come instead.”

How busy could they be that they refused to come and see their own daughter and grandchild at the hospital? He determined in his heart that, from now on, even if her own parents refused to love and cherish her, he would always be there for her, he would protect her from anyone at all.

”You go back home.“
“Stacey looking at Antonio suddenly cried out: ”Antonio!“ I was wrong! I really know I was wrong! Three years ago I should not have left the way I did, I regret it Antonio, please lets come back together and be happy again, just like old days?
