FINAL EPISODE

At Eziukwu, the twins and their mother had returned. All sat in the sittingroom silently reflecting all that happened.

On the other hand, Faith and Adaku couldn’t wait to backfire all the lies the twins told them with additional lies.

Mrs Williams glared at her daughters who began to smile looking at each other.
“What is funny now?” the mother began. “After all i told you, both of you insisted in going to the dark forest of Ndio…”
“..of our land. It’s our land mother” Udoka interrupted.
“Shut up your mouth there!” the mother rebuked with a trace of smile on her face. “Now that you have gone to the forest, what have you achieved?”

The twins looked at each other with a smile before Monica stood up. She brought out ten pieces of diamond and placed them on the centre table.

“My goodness!” the mother stood up swiftly. Just then, a knock came from the door-David and friends..

Before Mrs Williams reached the diamonds, Monica rushed them. She put them back into her pocket due to the knock at the door.
“Who’s that?” she asked.
“It’s David” came the reply. Instantly, Udoka hurried up and opened the door hopping to see David alone but she was perplexed at the number of people who stood behind him. Sandra was the only unfamiliar face. “Please, come in” she smiled.

They all entered and settled down with Sandra sitting beside David. Mike and Ernest sat on the same couch while the twins sat on a different one with their mother in between. Udoka couldn’t help it but to get jealous seeing Sandra again with David in a very close range.

“Ma’am, these are my friends” David began by introducing his friends. When Udoka heard Sandra’s name, she remembered when such name called David twice on their way going and returning from a dinner date. So she became more jealous.

“My daughters have told me how you people defended them. I’m very grateful” Mrs Williams smiled.

“Is okay. We couldn’t bear to see them hurt” Ernest replied.

Already, Monica couldn’t take her eyes off him.

“I hope you’ll be going back to your land very soon” David asked.
“Yes, my son”
“We are very happy to hear that”
“Let me get you some food” Mrs Williams happily stood up but Mike’s voice prevented her.

“There will be no need for that, ma’am. We just came to see your daughters as promised before returning back to school. As you can see, it’s getting late” Mike stood up, followed by Sandra before others.
“Is that so?” Mrs Williams turned. “Alright, my God will bless you” she gave her daughters sign to see them off.

At a path where the twins had to go back, David stood with Udoka while Ernest with Monica. Sandra and Mike gave them privacy by standing a bit far from them. Mike could see Sandra burning with anger. He tapped her and said, “I know it hurts but there is nothing u can do”
Sandra disdained him without a trace of smile on her face.

“I never believed i would see u again” Ernest began standing before Monica. There was no body contact.
“Me too. I was surprise to see you saving my ass again” Monica said then they giggled.
“I told you to be careful but you wouldn’t listen”

“I will be careful henceforth”
“Promise?”
“Promise” they smiled. Ernest wished to go further by at least giving her his phone number but kept mute for a reason best known to him.

On the other hand, David grabbed Udoka’s hands as he looked into her eyes.
“Make sure you purchase JAMB form. Apply to my school and leave the rest for God”
“Your school?” Udoka queried.
“Yes, don’t u wonna be close to me?”
Udoka kept quiet, she glanced at Sandra then brought down her face. David was wise enough to notice her mood. So he said, “She’s nothing you should worry about”

“I’m not comfortable with her” Udoka said unabashedly. “Is she really your..”
“Yes, she’s my friend nothing more” David interrupted.
“Alright” they hugged and departed.

The twins met Faith and Adaku on their way home. They had been expecting such moment and were fortunate enough to see it.
“Ehen!” Adaku clapped her hands dramatically. “As your king said, there is nothing hidden under the sun. Breeze has blown today and i have seen the YANSH of a fowl.”
Hearing that, the twins giggled.

“So, both of you have been deceiving us all this while” Faith said.
“We are sorry” Monica apologized.
“It was a family issue which we couldn’t reveal to anyone” Udoka added.
“But wait oh” Adaku dragged the twins away from the road then Faith smiled at her dramatical exhibition. “What were both of u doing in the dark forest of Ndiogoro? Don’t lie to me again oh!”
“That’s a topic for another day” the twins smiled.
“To where are u girls going?” Monica changed the topic.
“To purchase JAMB form” faith replied.
“Heey! We shall buy too” Udoka said.
“Really?” Adaku asked.
“Yes, but not today”
“I’m so happy!” Adaku jumped up while they laughed.

The twins explained to their mother about the diamonds which rendered her speechless. Few days later, they did not only go back to their father’s land but also to the dark forest and got enough of the diamonds before letting the king know about it. They also apologized for lying to him earlier.

SEVERAL MONTHS LATER

In the town, Trust and Sunday came out from their compound through the gate and saw a black Venza car stopped before them. They wanted to run but the twins came out shouting, “Oga Sunny!” they looked classic, rich and were taller than initial. They wore identical red tight gown, high-heel shoes and the same hairstyle. One can hardly differentiate them. Udoka hugged Sunny while Monica hugged Trust.

“Who are my eyes beholding!” Sunny exclaimed. “Okokoko ooh!”
“Am i dreaming?” Trust asked.
“Yes, and never wake up” Monica replied laughing.

“I will not try it!”
“Oga Sunny, i miss u” Udoka laughed. “Come inside the car, i want spoil u” she added jokingly.

“Don’t only spoil me, do me something worst than spoiling” They hurried to the car and drove out laughing..
