The Darkest Hour - Season 2 - Episode 27

“Hi, Udoka” she said as she hurried into the apartment with the food. Udoka stared at her without responding to her greetings. She stepped into her car and drove out. On her way, her phone rang-
that was her mother calling to tell her to come home immediately.

MRS WILLIAMS RESIDENT
Monica was already there. That
explained why the mother also
summoned Udoka coz she had told her about her dreams. Though the mother didn’t believe the dreams but wanted to see her precious daughter, Udoka. One could see Monica seated on the cushion without smiling. She tapped her legs abrasively in the uppermost floor of the building. Suddenly, Udoka entered and
hugged her mother, yet Monica didn’t say a word.

“Thank God you are okay my daughter” Mrs Williams smoothened her hair.
“Mother, she won’t be okay very soon!” Monica shrieked. “Tell her to leave this country! Udoka gonna die if she doesn’t leave this country. Why can’t you people
understand me?!” Monica stood up angrily.
“Shut up! Your sister will not die!” the mother rebuked her. Meanwhile, Udoka had started shedding tears
Monica sat back on the cushion after the mother rebuked her. Udoka, who had been shedding tears looked at her mother and said, “Mother, i have to leave
the country”

“Oh, my dear. Do you actually believe that you will die?” the mother asked holding her on the shoulder.

“I don’t need to doubt Monica anymore. She’s emphasizing on this more than she should. I’m only scared for death has no boundary. Who knows if i will meet it at the place I’m travelling to? I’m just so scared coz i don’t want to leave my love ones behind especially you, mother”
“Oh, my child” the mother hugged her warmly after which Udoka turned to Monica again.

“When, where and how am i going to die?”
“I never told you I’m God” Monica
replied.

Udoka stared at her for a while then began to walk towards the door. “Mother, I’m going to prepare my visa. I’m traveling to UK” she said without looking back. The next thing Mrs Williams and Monica heard was the sound of the door. Monica stood up instantly and ran outside. She met Udoka trying to enter into her car then called, “Udoka!”
Udoka turned to her sister to hear her out.
“It’s a good decision” Monica began calmly. “And I’m sorry if i sounded rudely all this while” she waited to hear or see her reaction but Udoka entered the car without saying a word and drove
away. Just as she headed to the gate, she saw Monica through the side mirror of the car still staring at her. “Why would my own sister foresee death for me?” she thought and averted her eyes from the mirror. Unknowing to Monica, the mother had been observing what was happening from the door. As she turned in disappointment of Udoka’s reaction, she saw her. The mother opened her arms then she ran and embraced her.

“Let her be, it’s a hard decision to make and also abnormal to wish another person death” the mother said.
“But mother I’m not wishing her death. I’m only doing this because of the love i have for her” Monica said too.
“Don’t worry, she will realise it very soon” the mother concluded.
