Udoka had gone to the embassy for her visa. She was all alone in their room thinking about her life. She totally became weak. For one to know that he or she will die isn’t something to joke about. That made Udoka so weak. As
she stared at the wall of the room, tears began to drop from her eyes. Just then, Monica opened the door gently. She first stared at Udoka from the door before moving closer. She sat beside her and said, “I know how you feel. All I’m doing is just for you to be safe coz i don’t wonna lose you. Remember what i told you on our way to the dark forest of Ndiogoro. I love you not only as my sister but also a brother. Please, travel and be alive for me. Once again, I’m sorry for my harsh behaviour earlier”
Udoka dried her tears with her palms after exhaling deeply. She wore a blue top with tiny hands. One could see the upper part of her breast looking fresh with a droplet of tears in between them.

“I have applied for a visa to UK” she began. “It will be ready in three days time. I can’t bring myself to be upset with you or doubt your dreams anymore. I love you as much as you love
me..”

Monica embraced her sister even before she completed her sentences. In a hugging position, Adaku and Faith also knocked at the door and walked in. Both
had books in their hands looking fresh in their uniform attire which Udoka saw then smiled on Monica’s shoulder.
“Why are you crying and smiling at the same time?” Adaku asked. She bent down to look at Udoka’s face very well. Monica turned instantly with a smiling face. The smile broaden when she also saw the girls dressing.
“You also, Monica?” Faith chipped in. “What is so amusing?”

The twins glanced at each other and looked at the dressing again: a jean skirt worn over a pair of black leggings and a white top to match it. On their feet were flat footwears. They also had the same colour of painted toes.
“Why did both of you dress in the same attire?” Udoka asked.
“Coz we are twins just like you” Adaku replied sitting beside Monica.
“Don’t mind her. She only wish to be a twin” Faith sat beside Udoka.
The twins smiled.
“So, xup with those tears?” Adaku asked.
“I’ll be traveling to UK in three days time” Udoka replied.
“Is that why u are crying?”
“I hope is not because of the so calledd dreams” Faith interfered then all remained quiet.
“No, it’s not” Monica broke the silence”
“Liar” Adaku frowned. You’ve come again with your lies. You think we don’t know when you lie unlike before in the village” She tapped Udoka on the shoulder. “Well, we gonna miss you. I’m
not against you traveling. But is that why you were shedding tears?”
Udoka nodded her head while Monica kept smiling and looking at Adaku’s character.

THE NEXT DAY
Mike prepared food by himself unlike before to use the opportunity to add the maize seed in it. He brought down the
food then dished out in a plate with the seed inside. He presented it to David who ate the seed unknowingly. Instantly, Mike left the room. There was a sudden change in David’s body which he couldn’t figure out.
Few minutes
later, Udoka arrived with her car. She wanted to inform David about her journey. She knocked at the door then entered with a hand-bag hanging on her elbow. She wore a skirt and shirt which she tucked in.
“Good morning, dear” Udoka wanted to hug David but his voice shocked her.
“Don’t touch me!” what are you doing here and who is your dear?”
Udoka became dumbfounded. She
stared at David as if she didn’t hear him vividly.
“What type of joke is that?” she asked.
“Do i look like I’m joking to you?” David approached closer to her with an angry face. “I don’t want to see u again, leave my room, leave!” he startled Udoka with his voice.

Udoka couldn’t figure out what was happening after she was startled by David’s voice. Therefore she took two steps backward and called, “David?” Her voice was calm and sincere. “What has come over you? What have i done? Why are you sounding this
way?”
