Accidental Marriage - Season 1 - Episode 8

‘This is the time I have been waiting for, when only the two of us will be in the house. I have prepared a
special meal for you and you will like it. But we cannot afford to misuse this time that oga and his family
are not around.’ Dorothy began to s£duce David. ‘But I can’t do such a thing with you, I am already
engaged to Tosin and I don’t intend cheating on her. More so, I am a Christian and I vowed not to
commit fornication again.’ David protested as his voice started going down like a man under the
influence of enchantment. ‘I…I…don’t…don’t don’t…want.’ ‘I know you are enjoying what I am doing to
you. Just remain calm as I take the lead here,’ Dorothy began to caress him.

‘Dorothy, pleeeeeeeease I am a Christ………’ ‘Shhhhhhhh, I am a Christian too.’ She unzipped her skirt
and unbuttoned his shirt, pushed him to the bed. And in 5 minutes, the deed was done.
Then he woke
up – it was a dream. ‘Thank you Lord’. He quickly picked his bible and opened to Matthew 6:13, “And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is thy kingdom, the power, and the glory,
for ever. Amen.” He knelt down to pray to God, it was the fifth day of his prayer and fasting. On the last day of his fasting, ‘two hired assassins broke into the house. ‘Everybody lie down!’ Where is
Chief Ugbana? ‘Please don’t hurt anybody, tell me what you want and I will give you,’ Chief pleaded from
his bedroom. ‘We are not interested in your money because we have been paid to take your life.’

Suddenly David came in without knowing what was happening until he saw the man with the gun. He
grabbed one of the assassins with the gun from the back, wrestled with the two of them for over 15
minutes until he was able to snatch the gun from him. Everyone in the house was amazed at David’s
courage and resilience. The assassins were made to kneel down while Chief called the police. The police
arrived and took away the men for questioning.

The commissioner of police advised chief and his family to relocate from the house temporarily to
enable them carry out their investigation. They all moved into a hotel, after which they decided to
permanently relocate to the US. David and the security guard were the only ones left in the house.

Three days later chief invited David to the hotel where they have been hiding. ‘How did you do it, where
did get such a strength and courage to wrestle with a gunman?’ Chief asked David. ‘Sir, it must be God,
because I never knew where such strength came from.’ Naturally I can’t stand the sight of a gun but I
couldn’t watch seeing you been killed just like that. You’ve been a nice man and source of blessing to
me.’

‘Thank you David for risking your life to save mine. I have concluded arrangements to relocate all my
family to the US. I have also decided to will the house to you. There is a cheque of 10 million naira in
that envelope, this is to assist you to start a good life after your graduation. I am selling all my
investments here in Nigeria but I will sublet my 2 filling stations in Lagos island to you. You will share the
proceeds 50/50. 50% for you and 50% for motherless babies.’

David was dumbfounded, he prayed in his mind “Lord, don’t let this be another dream”. ‘Thank you sir,
this is the best thing that ever happened to me in my lifetime.’ He went down and rolled from one side
of the room to the other in appreciation.
‘Wow!’ David screamed! ‘I am a millionaire in the tinkle of an eye.’ He greeted other members of the
family with a hug each. I will miss you all, then tears rolled down everyone’s cheeks. Stella and Joy’s
tears were tears of a lost battle of love.
