Story Of Addition (Love Story) - Season 1 - Episode 99

I should have remained in the hospital. I don’t think my heart can take another Bidemi and Ruka saga. My mind kept praying and hoping that Bidemi would let Ruka be today; if not, I think Doctor Ayeni would soon put me on admission because of heart failure. I looked into Ruka’s eyes and I could see the fear in her eyes. She managed to greet.

Ruka: (forcing a smile) hello guys!

All of us: welcome.

Me: (smiling) I’m sorry that I dint call you that
I’m back. I just slept off when I got back.

Ruka: it’s nothing… I saw Funmilayo on her way out now and she told me that you are inside. she never told me you have visitors.

Bidemi: we are not visitors… we are his friends and we came to see our friend.

I looked at Bidemi with pleading eyes. She is not even moved. I excused myself. I went to Ruka. I dragged her along with me to the living room where Chidinma and kikelomo were gisting. I did the introduction.

Me: (smiling) I’m very sure that you have met
Bidemi before (points at her). This is Kikelomo,
Bidemi’s elder sister. She is a student of UNILAG.
Kikelomo, meet Ruka. She is into modelling. I’m very sure that you will like her.

Ruka: (smiling) it’s nice to meet you kikelomo.

Kikelomo: (excited) same here dear…

Me: (smiling) Ruka, please meet Chidinma. My
home teacher… my tutor. She’s a student of
Lagos state university. Chichi.. meet Ruka my friend.

Ruka replied Chidinma in Ibo language. She speaks it as fluent as Chidinma. I looked at
Bidemi: whose body was shaking all over the dinning table. I dragged kikelomo by her hand and we went to the balcony: leaving Chidinma and kikelomo chatting in Ibo language: with only what God knows.

I explained everything to kikelomo: it was not detailed but I knew that she understood every bit of it.

Kikelomo: so what do you want me to do? You know that I can’t control Bidemi when it comes to your issue.

Me: (voice trembling) I know. I just want to let you
know. My temperature is getting hot now and my heartbeat has doubled. I hope I won’t get readmitted.

Kikelomo: (laughing) that’s what you get when you double date… Don’t worry… I will look for a way to calm her down.

Me: it’s not a laughing matter kikelomo. Ruka is just a friend now. please do before she does the expected. I dint expect Ruka to come around today. She is a very nice girl. She came to (paused)…

I was about to say something again when Bidemi walked in on us. I froze out.

Bidemi: (smiling) I heard everything that you guys
have been saying since morning… I’m not that bad. It’s just that I don’t share what’s mine.
The earlier the better you sink that into her head; the better for all of us.

Me: it seems you are enjoying everything that you are doing?

Bidemi: (smiling) I’m not… I just don’t want
her around you: is that too much to ask for Kikelomo?

Kikelomo: (smiling) Bidemi, you just have to take things easy. She just came for a friendly visit.
Besides, Femi is just recovering from the bad incident. Just take things easy.

Bidemi was about to say something when
Funmilayo came back from KFC. We all went back into the living room. Bidemi was not able to conclude, if she would let Bidemi be or not. My heart started pounding fast. We all ate the snacks with soft drinks from the fridge. Chidinma,
kikelomo, and Funmilayo chatted freely but for the rest of us: it seems we were trying to size out ourselves before a wrestling match.

Me: thank you Funmilayo.. this is the best food
that I have taken for days now. It’s just pap and moimoi.

They all laughed. Kikelomo phone rang and she rushed away from our midst. It seems she wants to receive it in a quiet place. She received the call and came back after five minutes.

Kikelomo: (excited) it’s mummy. She wants me
and Bidemi to come over to the hospital now. It seems that Daddy wants to see us.

Me: (smiling) that means that he is getting much
better now. That’s very good. I guess you guys should start going.

Bidemi: I know that you will be excited with me
leaving. but I’m going nowhere until Ruka leaves this place.

I looked at Kikelomo and she looks very angry.
