I changed my mind and called my mum
me: hello mummy, goodmorning
mum: hello Ubong(my native name, the name they call me at home most times) aba die(how are you in efik language)

me: idioko (am fine)

mum: are you still coming home today?

me: no mummy, i was planning on going to spend the weekend at mummy eno’s place
mum: why?

me: she’s been accusing me that i don’t want to come to her house to at least know where she’s living. So i want to pay them a suprise visit and spend the weekend there.

mum: ehe! its okay, no problem. We’ll be seeing in church on sunday then?

me: yeah

mum: and i prepared afang soup for you ooo… i put turkey inside and snail

me: ahhh!!! ohhhww!! chai! i don miss ooo… I’ll come home after service on sunday to eat my own. You people should not finish the turkey and the snail oo…

mum: okay, I’ll specially keep two big meats for you

me: yeah, thats my momma

mum: alright, see you on sunday then. Behave well oo..

me: aha! don’t i behave well before? greet daddy for me.

I hung up and put a call through to mummy Eno.

mummy Eno is my choir mistress who has been insisting, along side with her husband, on me coming to her house to at least know where they stay. She has two kids. The first son is done with schooling and stays in Abuja while the first daughter, second child is in 200level babcock university.

*on the phone*

me: hello ma, good morning ma
she: hello, aha! Ubong, this one that you call me today, hmmm… I’ll give testimony tomorrow in church oo

*we both laughed*

me: good morning ma

she: ehe! good morning, how is school?

me: school is fine ma

she: okay, so to what do i owe this honour of a call from you of all people

me: *laugh* I’m coming to your house right now ma, i called to ask for direction
she: are you serious?!

me: yes, am on my way sef, am at mushin now

she: okay, take kotun bus and drop at NNPC bus stop, Eno is around. When you reach NNPC, call me she’ll come and pick you to the house okay?

me: okay ma

she: I’ll be expecting you

me: okay ma, bye.

There was no hold-up on the road since it was a saturday morning so i got to NNPC inless than an hour and called her that i was at NNPC bus stop. In less than 10mins, Eno, got to the bus stop and we exchanged pleasanries and walked to their house together. We got there and her mum was so suprised to see me.

she: this one that am having you in my house today, lemme go and prepare something for you

me: *laugh* ah! okay ma, I’ll be spending the weekend here me

she: wow.. that’s great o.
