This was temptation, and I knew it but I could also see that my ability to withstand was becoming thinner and thinner at every passing hour.

However, I still managed to pull off one more resolute decision before steeping out of the bathroom – I wasn’t going back to Madam Ann’s house, come what may! And I didn’t hesitate to announce it to the boys as soon as I got back into our room.

“We will all be returning from the office much later than yourself…” Matthew began replying just as soon. How he would know so much about what time others return from their own offices despite being at separate PPAs, was something I wouldn’t understand.

“Well…I don’t like that woman” I managed to add. “…and I doubt I would ever want to see her again.”

Bassey Chuckled and then regained his composure. They all remained silent and kept looking at me.

When I got worried of how blank their stare were, I had to react. “Is anything the problem?” I even frowned a little bit

Leaving the discussion there, I proceeded to begin getting set for work. I was a few minutes late already.

Having supposedly prepared the ground that very morning, I left for work with much more security and assurance that whatever happened the day before wasn’t ever going to happen again.

I was still struggling within me to withstand the ever-growing consuming urge for s*x but was doing well to keep it at bay so far. I had already made it clear to the boys that I wasn’t going to be picking up the key this time around and even later told Tolu that I was going to keep calling him to ascertain the exact time they had all returned from their offices. I was going to either remain at the office or attend a prayer meeting in church (which I ordinarily wasn’t invited to) until he confirmed that they had gotten home; secured the key from Madam Ann and then unlocked the door themselves. I needed to be proactive myself and that exactly was what I began doing. In fact, I chose the option of staying back in the office as soon as I realized a lot of the senior staff at the office were going for a long over-time. Ideally, corps-members and interns were permitted to close work by 2pm while full staff stayed until 4pm but I didn’t do as expected that very day.

I remained with the lot who stayed way beyond 4pm and always kept calling Tolu to know when he would be coming in. Things only began going abnormal when at 6pm, he still claimed none of the boys were home yet! That was when I began feeling very unease. I was dead hungry with a 12noon-snack, the only thing I had taken since after breakfast. I also saw the need to leave the office quite soon as the guys on over-time eventually began packing, up just about then. When it became obvious there was nothing else I could do, I had to pack and leave too! One more call and Tolu was already sounding angry; telling me to go fetch the key myself if I was tired of waiting for them! Even an attempt to ask them what they could be collectively doing until 6pm in their respective offices only attracted a tirade of rough language on me. I just thought my will-power had become broken! I just had to pick up the key one last time if I was ever going to salvage my dying hungry self! I made a promise to clone an extra one for myself by the following day though; by any means possible!

Madam Ann burst into uncontrollable laughter when she saw me at her doorstep! I hadn’t bothered to get to the lodge first since there was no point doing so, therefore walked straight to her apartment. And just like the previous day, the middle-aged headmistress had to peep through the window before opening the door. When she did open, she was totally Unclad this time around, with no shred of clothes on!

I just stood there like some helpless fixture looking at her.

“I don’t need to come inside before I get the key Ann. Just bring me the key please.” I replied her with an unusual kind of boldness. I even only noticed I referred to her as Ann after I had finished saying the words.

“Oh….you dey call me Ann now, abi? Well, I don’t blame you! It is either you are coming inside for the key or you can return to your house”
“But you know I have the option of waiting for my friends to pick up the key themselves?”
She hurriedly burst into another laughter before going on to frown her face in the most fierce of ways! “You wish! Fool! Oh…do you think I don’t know you’ve been waiting for them? Abi 6pm don become 2pm for your head? You ain’t serious yet…”

She abruptly began pushing the door back to shut it and I had to step forward to hold it back! If ever she got to do so, I wasn’t sure for how much longer I was going to wait! “Let me come in.” I finally accepted.
