Immediately i gor out of Area f police station, i waved down at a ‘keke’.

I was the first person to board the tricycle, we had barely moved a little distance when two heavy guys waved it down. One entered from the right side and the other from the left.
I got so afraid that i thought i had entered a ‘ one chance’.

I noticed the unease written on the face of the guy on my left side. He kept spitting hia saliva out and his outbreathing was sharp too.
‘ wetin concern me, thank God una no be thieves sha’ …. These thoughts filled my mind and i could realize they are so uncomfortable with the way i smell.

They both alighted at Allen junction before getting to Alausa. Who knows maybe they have not even gotten to their destination.

i got to my street and people kept looking at me as if i was an alien. ‘ how did they know i got arrested’….. I thought sharply.
” guy how far now, you travel”?
Ade asked.

I did not even realize he was behind me until he tapped me from behind and asked me if i just came back from travel.

” how far now, yes i travel, i just dey come. ” i answered.
” ha , i go show for your side in the evening, abi na”? The idiot did not even wait for my response before he went away.

‘Imagine, u wan come my side come chop…. You no even wan know wetin i pass though.

I got home, i went straight to where i usually keep my keys and met it empty. I searched thoroughly before i decided to go break the door.

On getting to my door, i realized it was locked from inside, meaning someone was in there.

My mind flashed at Bisi. I knocked gently and voila, the door swung open. Your guess is as good as mine, but who i saw wasn’t Bisi.

I saw Bunmi!

She walked elegantly back to the bed and she continued sleeping. At first i was so dumbfounded and could not even say a word. I went inside, tried saying something but nothing came. I was too shocked to speak a word.


I sat on my sofa, still unable to speak a word. A thought came into me pounce on her and beat the hell out of her. Hmmm, i then realized the devil was the one speaking to me. I cooled down and then remembered i need to report at work. I rushed into my bathroom, took a sharp bath. I kept imagining how my boss will react to my claim that i got picked with ‘rogals’ .

I had made up my mind to lie that i was on my way to buy card on sunday when i got picked up by police for no reason and i was just released.

Well, that was the best lie i could give. If i had said i felt sick, they would have asked for my doctor’s report, and that could have been catastrophic.

I rushed into the room after my bath and jumped into my clothes. I realised Bunmi was still sleeping. ‘ but that girl get mind oooo, she wasnt even afraid i might kill her after all i had gone through.’
