Ifeoma looked incredulously at Cassie.
“What do you want from him exactly? You
chased him away, he has got another girlfriend
and you want his relationship to end? Cassie,
move on with your life. If he is meant to be
yours, then he will come back to you. If not,
you will find your man when the time is right.

Stop sweating over the issue! The guy we are
taking about is a small boy sef.”

Cassie turned to look at Ifeoma, shocked at her
statements. “Is that the consolation you can
give me?”
“Yes, that’s the consolation I can give you,
Cassie Blake Adams. I mean, I can’t destroy
someone else path to happiness because you
selfishly want to keep him sad. That’s the truth.

If it was a case that you still loved him, I will
understand, but you seemed confused about
what you want and he is moving on.”
“Cassie face was now contorted in a way not
different from a child who had just got a hiding.

Ifeoma, you call me your friend and you say
this?”
“Cassie, if you want me to sugar-coat you and
in the process tell you lies, I won’t. Fake friends
will help you do what you asked me to do and
then watch you suffer when the consequences
begin to hit you. True friends will see the
danger in such and advise you against it. Don’t
do anything to their relationship, because if you
do, Karma is always there and it won’t be funny
if the consequences start when you are
married.”
“Okay o.” Cassie said, mopping her face up,
“Thank you.”
“Oshey gan.” Cassie said before facing her
work.

Comfort, on the other hand was shocked that
her aunt got to know that Tunji showed up.
“I don’t know, he said he wanted to see me.

I
told him that its not possible and that he should
leave me alone, then I locked the door against
him.”
“Good, all these young men left by their parents
have a lot of secrets they hid. Besides there are
a lot of evil activities going on in this town
Comfort. So please understand that I am
looking out for you.”
“Okay ma.”
“Stop ‘Okaying’ me like I am forcing you.” She
then held Comfort’s hand. together and faced
her.
“Comfort, I know that you are young and you
want freedom. I don’t blame you for that.”
“But you must know that there is nothing like
freedom in the pure sense of it. There are
always bondage and prices for various degrees
of freedom and some prices are just too big to
pay. The boy you call Tunji has been seen with
some well known ritualists in town and what
they specialize in is using people private parts
for money. Comfort winced at this statement,
so I not wanting you near him is not because of
been overprotective. I care deeply about you
and that’s why i behave the way i do. Please
understand me, Comfort.”

Comfort looked at her, tears shooting out of her
eyes. The dream was now clear to
her.Wahalahi! If she sees Tunji ten feet away
from her, she go run comot. No be am dem go
use for ‘Ogun Owo’.

Courage was praying with Kachi, Her church
pastor when he asked to pray for her friends.

She was praying when she saw something like a
dream.More like a vision.
Of Comfort.

She saw some armed men with guns, moving
from house to house and breaking down doors.
In every house they opened, some screams
were heard with at least one bullet been shot,
meaning that someone was been killed. As they
entered a certain house, they met two women,
one of then been a target for them. As they
raised the women’s heads up, she could see
Comfort as the younger woman.

As they were discussing on what to do, Comfort
suddenly broke free and started to run. As she
got out of the house in a bid to escape the
armed men, two shots rang out, dropping her
dead.
“Jesus!” Courage shouted as she suddenly
opened her eyes, putting a sudden end to her
prayers.
“Sister Courage, what happened?” Asked a
concerned Kachi.
“Sir, I had a vision that one of my friends was in
trouble.”
“Hmn, all these friends that don’t have Jesus as
the centre of their lives.”
“Sir! You like emphasising that part of their
lives!”
“Because its important, Sister Courage! They
need to have the security of being in Christ. So
what happened to this your friend?”
“Some armed robbers came into her house and
shot her.”
“Hmn, is she in school right now?”
“No, she is saying with her aunt somewhere in
Mafoluku in Lagos.”
“Okay, don’t panic, call her. Maybe God is
showing you the future so as to save her.”
“Okay sir, can I go now or should we continue
praying?”
He scratched his brow. “Go now!”
Comfort was singing to herself when a call came
through from Courage.
“Comfort, where have you been? I have been
calling you for some time.”
“I was bathing, you sound worried.”
“I need to be. I went for a church prayer
meeting and I saw that you were attacked in a
vision.”
“Okay, church things.” Comfort said
nonchalantly. “So what’s next?”
“Comfort please listen to me. I don’t want you
to be harmed. Can you just move away for
some time?”
“Abeg, abeg, when did I become the target of
your church musings?”
Courage wanted to reply her with anger, but
checked herself.
“See, I have done my best.” She cut the call.
