PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
(INSIDE THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE)

They both hugged each other for about a few seconds or so before releasing themselves.

“So, your mothers are even friends!” the principal smiled without getting up from the castor he sat on behind his desk that was filled with files and A4 papers.

“Yes!” Mom smiled. “My best friend back then in secondary school,” she added while Peace Mom smiled too.

“I’m sorry my daughter set your daughter up, I don’t know what came over her but she got more than the slap you gave to her from her father,” she said and glared at Peace.

“I’m sorry I slapped her, I was just so annoyed,” Mom also apologised.

“Peace apologise to Becky now,” the principal ordered.

Peace stood up and moved to stand infront of me with a kinda sober look. From the way she stared at me, I knew she wasn’t going to apologise wholeheartedly. “I’m sorry,” she said and swallowed hard.
I didn’t mind her look, I just reached out and hugged her tight thus forcing her to go rigid in my arms. “I’m sorry too,” I smiled and released her.

“Now that’s better, apologies Mrs Gloria,” the principal said.

Mom nodded, “Accepted.”

There and then everything was settled and after some more talking and laughter, my mom and Peace mom left the office while the principal advised us, then we later left for our class with David and I holding hands which got Peace fuming in anger…

OUTSIDE

“I will deal with both of you,” Peace said as we headed to the class.

“Yes, prepare for war,” Joy added as moved and walked beside me while Peace walked beside David therefore putting us in the middle.

“Do I really look like someone who’s afraid of you?” I asked as I carressed David’s palm which made Peace grit her teeth.

“We shall see who wins but I’ll advice you to be careful so you don’t live to regret ever coming to this school,” Joy hissed, then they walked past us, trying to shake butt0ckz for David, hmm nawa o, butt0ckz wey dey like frying pan(lol).

I also hissed, “Empty threats!” while David laughed…

INSIDE THE CLASS

We entered the class just in time as the chemistry teacher came in which left us with no time to talk.( You know in Ss1, students offer all subjects till they get to Ss2).

Our chemistry teacher was a copper of about twenty five(Nath’s age). He looked cute though in his khaki trouser and white polo. He wore a cap too but removed when he entered the class and since that was his first time in our class, he only gave us topic outlines and also informed us that we would be having classes in the laboratory. After his period was over, the rest of the day seemed pretty hectic and very busy as the teachers didn’t even give us breathing space. Each subject teacher just came and stood by the door so that when the one inside the class is through, he/she would just walk in and start teaching and that made the day seem boring coz there was no chance for any discussion or whatsoever.

Finally, It was break period and just as I turned to thank David for copying the yesterday’s note for me and probably start a discussion, the school counsellor came in and after the greetings, she began talking, telling us life stories and giving series of advice. She talked and talked and we spent all the time meant for break period listening to her. She later left after break and two more teachers came in.

Finally, the long awaited two o’clock, the time keeper rung the bell indicating school was over while I heaved a sigh of relief. Immediately the teacher stepped foot outside the class, I turned back to face David without even caring to lock my locker. Queen also turned to face us too.

“Thanks Dave for everything and you too Queen,” I appreciated with a smile on my face.

“Our pleasure,” they said in unison.

“So, who copied notes for me coz I forgot to lock my locker,” I said.

Queen glanced at David and he looked down. “He did.”

“Oh! Thank you so much,” I said happily while he simply nodded.

“Tell us how yesterday was?” Queen leaned on top the locker infront of her with her right elbow supporting her chin, her eyes fixed on my face. I chuckled and began narrating everything to them and of coz I told them the Ken’s part which changed David’s face but before Queen could notice, he quickly smiled to cover it up. I wanted to ask him while he looked jealous when I mentioned Ken but decided against it.

“Only Ss1 and guys are tripping over you, then when you get into university, you will be a hot cake,” Queen said while we laughed but then David’s attention was distracted as he stared pointedly at the door.
Queen and I also turned to the door.

“Eric!” I muttered under my breath. “What does he want to say this time,” I asked rhetorically…
