Fire God Of The Fire Island - Season 1 - Episode 53

☆☆
Spending the night upon Obsidian, Kate had fulfilled her duty that her cousin had set for her. It was rather..unconventional way of completing her meditation, to put it lightly. And it made her blush thinking about what had happened.

But the flames did not retaliate in anyway and Kate did manage to communicate with Nootau Chatan in her dreams, although her Fire Beast had nothing to offer her in her research and desire for the truth. She did, however, offer her some encouraging words about how it was alright to allow herself allow herself to be loved by him.

And, well, Kate was starting to feel that way. She truly was. She liked being with Loki, Kate hadn’t felt so happy and light for a long time.

Leaving the mountain top, Loki by her side, Kate was greeted by Levi, the Fire Guard looking edgy and tense. Which, in turn, made Kate feel tense as well.

But before she could ask a question Levi beat her to it.

“Nothing”,
he said tersely.

Kate blinked at him while Loki tilted his head to the side in question. “No gossip? Nothing?”

“Absolutely nothing”.

“Kira didn’t pull any last minute meetings?”
Kate asked completely and utterly bewildered.

Levi pressed the top of his forefinger to his thumb to make a ‘O’ sign with his hand, the other resting on his hip. “Yes”.

“T-that can’t be right”,
Kate spluttered. “She-”

Suddenly, a loud explosion rocked the area, the ground beneath their feet trembling, causing them to stumble slightly, Loki instinctively shielding Kate as she clung to him. It lasted for only a few seconds, but it was intense. And close.

“What was that?”
Kate immediately asked, alarmed.

“It came from the direction of the temple!” Levi announced, immediately turning on his heel and running in the direction of the temple. “Laura!”

“Let’s Go, Kate”,
Loki said at once again his expressing unnervingly serious.

Immediately, the two of them ran toward the temple as well, ignoring the other Fire Priest & Priestess as they filled out in panic and confusion. Amongst the masses, Kate noted that she could not see Laura and her heart leapt into her throat.

Her fear only grew when she heard Levi voice, loud and clearly distressed over the bellowing smoke. “Laura!”
Skidding into the room she heard Levi voice echo from, Kate nearly colided with her friend, who was staring forward, his eyes wide and his face drained of colour.

“Levi, what is it?”
Kate asked as she tugged on Levi’s arm, not getting a response from him. She glanced quickly over in the direction he was staring in and had to do a double take.

She immediately let go of Levi’s arm and took a sudden step forward. “Laura!”

There, in the middle of the smoking and sooty chamber was Elder Adoh, and he had Laura in his grip, one arm around her neck in a choke hold, the other pinning Laura’s arm behind her back. He was holding her slightly in front of him, pulling Laura back so her feet were barely touching the ground.

But Laura was..

Blood was coating her tattered white robes, staining them a sickening crimson colour. Her hair was mattered and her skin a deathly pale with patches of soot. Her face was creased into a look of sheer pain, her eyes glazed over from the agony.

“L-Levi..” Laura murmured, struggling only ever so slightly against Elder Aodh’s hold on her. “Lady Kate”.

“Elder Aodh, what are you doing?”
Kate demanded to know, an unfamiliar rage and anger rising steadily.

Elder Aodh smirked and abjusted his grip on Laura, placing her so that she was looking over his shoulders, using Laura as a shield. “Orders of the Princess”, he said simply.

Kate felt her body become tense. “Kira?”
She did this?

That…that b---h! She attacked Laura! She did this to her.

“Lady Kate”, Laura wheezed, her voice low and was barely heard. “Run, Please”. She then let out a gut-wrenching cry of pain when Elder Aodh tightened his grip on her intentionally causing her pain. “Ah!”
“Laura!”
Levi screamed next to Kate, his body trembling with barely restrained anger.

“Stop it!” Kate yelled, her voice full of both anger and concern. “You’re huting her!”

Elder Aodh just smirked, which only added to the anger and hatred that Kate, and most certainly Levi, was feeling toward him.

“I don’t care if you’re a Fire Elder or not”,
Levi said, his head low, his eyes hidden within the shadows of his hair.

But his posture was tense, even as his fisted hands shook by his sides. “I’m going to have to kill you if you’re the one responsible for Laura’s injuries”.

His voice was so…angry. It brought shivers down Kate’s spine.

“Quite some strong words, Fire Guard”,
Elder Aodh spoke, a haughty tone in his voice. Although, there was also a slight sense of trepidation in his voice, unnerved by Levi’s threat, though he hid it well.

“Why you-!” Levi hissed and lunged forward, ready to attack and rip Elder Aodh to shreds, but he was suddenly pulled back by a hand grabbing him by the arm.

“Wait”,
Loki said as he suddenly appeared, keeping a firm grip on Levi’s arm.
