*******Benny la!d on her bed looking sober,.. She refused to eat since morning,… She has been thinking seriously about her condition, her mother have been avoiding her like a plague,… Only her elder brother cares about her,….she thought about all she has lost,……. She was still in her thoughts when she heard a knock on her door,….


“Madam pls lunch is ready, “the maid informed her
There was no response ,……..

The maid continued knocking but she ignored her,…. She left disappointed and decided to come back later to check on her later
” Look at what i’ve turned into,…. I dont have a child or husband to call my own, i cant even face my family,…. Everyone has deserted me,… Even my cult members have all abandoned me,…. I don’t have anyone,… My mother has refused to forgive me,…. The great madam Johnson is now a nobody,.. From grace to grass,…. Noooo,….. I cant take this anymore, i’ll rather die than face this shame,….. The shame is too much,…. I must end it all,….. “she thought deeply
She la!d on the bed for one hour contemplating whether to end it all or continue bearing the shame,…. A part of her shunned her against the act, while the other urged her otherwise,………

She stared at the toxic substance on the table,…. She helped her self into the wheel chair and wheeled closer to the table,….. She took the substance and opened it…….


” God pls forgive me for doing this,… But i need to do it,…. “she prayed silently closing her eyes tightly

The maid was scared as her madam have refused to open the door the second time she came knocking,…… She rushed out to call on the family members,……


******, As she was trying to empty the substance into her mouth, there was a loud bang on the door,…..

” Benny open the door,!!!!! “she recognised her brother’s voice immediately
She hurriedly emptied the substance inside her mouth,…….. .the banging on the door increased intensely….. She held her stomach tight as the stomach pains was becoming severe,… She cried bitterly as she fell down from her wheel chair,….

Her brother forcefully pushed the door open, and met her groaning in pains,….. He rushed to her and carried her up,… She was convulsing,.. He screamed and everyone in the house came rushing into the room,….. They were all in shock,…. She was immediately rushed to the hospital,……


*******The doctors and nurses were all running up and down to save her life,….. Her brother was pacing up and down sweating profusely

The doctors came out two hours later after battling with death,….. He rushed to them to know his sister’s state of health,…..


“She’s now out of danger,…. But she’s still in coma,…. “one of the doctors informed him,….

” thank you doc,….. ”


” Follow me to my office,… “the doctor instructed him
He followed the doctor to his office and sat down opposite him,….

” So tell me why your sister wants to commit suicide,….. “he asked

” What!!!? ”
” Yes, she tried killing herself,…. I’m afraid of the outcome of her action,….. Her throat is badly hurt and her vocal chord is badly damaged,…. I’m sorry because she wont be able to talk again,….. “the doctor explained to him

Tears rolled down his cheeks,….. He thanked the doctor and left,….. A nurse took him to his sister ‘s ward .. Where he saw her lying helplessly on the bed, she was breathing with the help of an oxygen,…. He was weakened,…. He quickly gathered courage and drove back home to inform the family of her poor health condition,……. Every one thought she was only seeking for their attention,….. No one bothered following them to the hospital thinking she was pretending, just to get their attention ………


****Benny was smiling at the sight of her family members,…… Her mother sat on the only seat in her room staring at her,…. It’s been two weeks she was admitted,…… She regained consciousness a week after her admission,…… Her family members have finally forgiven her for all her evil doings,….. She’s still finding it difficult to speak,…. She uses gesture to pass message across to her family,…… She sometimes put them into writing,… She accepted her condition in good faith,…. She believed she was paying for her sins,….. She swore never to think of committing suicide again,…… The doctor walked in and announced that she was good to be discharged,……..


********Richie and Angela have finally wedded, their wedding was the talk of the town,….. All their friends attended it…. Desmond and Nancy did alot of running around for the wedding,…… Mr Johnson was so happy to see his only son wed,….. Grandma and her friend were also present at the wedding looking fabulous…… .. At the reception, Richard took the microphone and told everyone how his love story began with Angela,….. He told them what they passed through and how they overcame their troubles,……… He was so happy to finally wed the love of his life,…. Everyone was in tears as he narrated his story,…… He made everyone know that they have forgiven their step mother but wont accept her back as a mother

The newly wedded couple didn’t travel for their honeymoon, their baby was still tender to be left in the hands of a nanny or even his mother in law,….. They postponed it till next year,….. Peace have finally being restored to the Johnson’s family,….

Angela will write her jamb next year to enable her further her education,a private tutor was hired to coach her for the exam………grandma now have a new orphanage home in Asaba where she spends most of her time watching the children play,…. … She named the orphanage after her late daughter in law,…………
She cant stop thanking God for restoring peace in her home….. At least she can now die peacefully,………… She prayed that God will continue to bless her home,………
