Thomas utmost hatred for Agnes grew day by day as he had always hoped not to see her face the second day but would always see her face and torment her by smokin real hard in her presence,makin her cough,which wasnt that good for her health or at times find a reason to insult her badly before goin to school which would make her feel sad,most especially whenever he maltreats her in her grandma’s presence,who would just encouraged him to continue or calls her a ‘b-----d’ in the presence of her mum,who would just looked down dejectedly and would try preventing him to stop abusing her harshly but wouldnt listen and would just get angry and punch her mum,leaving her hopeless and helpless becos there was nothin she could do about it but to just cry bitterly or call for help which she knew,its was in vain as he would also drag her along with her mother,Rose,by beatin the livin day out of her till he was tired,that was the kind of life the teen lived without tellin anyone and kept it a burden in her heart.

Valeria lived the luxurious life,spendin money like paper and disposin things like a wastebin,she had no problem niether was her parents givin her problems as they gave her all what she wanted even more than what she ever wanted as they spoiled her with fascinatin things,lettin her do no work at home and would just order the maids around,talk harshly to them includin nanny Dee,whom kept on givin her problems by reportin her ill-deeds to her father,Francis,since Lilian,her mother was just too busy to listen which made she and Francis had issues at times to extent that she almost sacked nanny Dee becos Valeria pleaded her to,if not for Francis,who intervene as he and Valeria would argue alot,makin her to disrespect him and would just talked rudely to him,givin him attitude n end conversations with him even when he wasnt done talkin or at times walked out on him without even lookin back and had done that many times even in the presence of her mum,Lilian,who had no choice but to support her also.

It was now saturday,after Agnes had just hawked that mornin,made good sales for her mum and was just eatin her breakfast in the afternoon which was bread and groundnuts with a sachet of water as she sat on a stool,eatin it in her mum’s small kiosk by the roadside where she sells fruits and other consumable stuffs as she sat outside to eat while her mum was inside doin one thing or the other as she continued eatin,with her head down till someone stood in front of her,shieldin the sun from her as the person’s shadow was obtructin her view but still didnt looked up till the person said ‘Fedora’ in a cool tone,just to get her attention which he did till she looked up with raised eyebrows in suprise and her hazel eyeballs out like as if it was gonna popped out from its sockets with her mouth ajar as she stared at the person in bewilderment but later frowned when she saw him licked his lips which irritated her as she shot at him in anger “what do you want again?!,why’re you here,Ethan?”.

“i’m here to buy some snacks”Ethan replied staring straight into her eyes and smiling “you?,snacks?!”Agnes asked in confusion “yes,snacks?,or is there a problem with that,Fedora?”he asked curiously “yes,there’s a big big problem with that because how you got to know this place is what i dont know and as at the last time i checked,i remember not telling anyone where my mum works”she replied,eyed and hissed “oh…!,dont be suprise,Fedora,becos there’s no place in Lagos that i dont know so are you selling for me or not?”he asked rudely with a frown “no,i wont!”she barked at him “and why would you?”he asked curiously “becos even if you’re the only person remaining on earth to buy anything from us,i just wont sell to you!!”she screamed at him which got Rose’s attention as she ran out,only to find both of them arguing and had to stop them by apologising to Ethan,whom was now confused than ever as he stared at both women,not knowing whom was Agnes.
