NIMC Director to appear in court for rape

Ikenna Unegbu, the National Identity Management Commission for Imo State Director had been arraigned to appear before a Magistrate Court in Owerri.

This is after he was accused of raping a two year old girl who was said to enter his office with two biscuits but came out of the office crying.

According to the report given by the victim's mum, Chinonye Obioma who happens to be a vendor inside the Commission's compound, she just finished scolding the child for pouring water around the office when Ikenna acted like he wanted to console the girl. But the child came out crying and on their way home, after the child urinated, she started noticing a strange movement and posture.

The incident she said happened on the 5th of February and on the 6th, she took the child to a medical center where it was confirmed that the child's hymen had been broken.

The Magistrate Court had ruled that the Ikenna be granted bail for re-arraignment on the 19th of March 2020.
