Sixteen years ago today, the world was blessed with The Marshall Mathers LP, an album that soundtracked countless teens’ angsty moments with tracks like “Stan” and “The Real Slim Shady.” To commemorate the landmark record’s anniversary, Eminem is reissuing the album with some unique pieces of merch: actual bricks from his childhood home.
Torn down back in 2013 by the state of Michigan, the panels of wood and bricks that made up Eminem’s home have been turned into dog tags (available in limited quantities) and display pieces, respectively. Each of the 700 bricks comes with a display stand and commemorative plaque, as well as a numbered certificate of authenticity featuring Eminem’s handwritten signature.
A portion of the proceeds from the reissue will be donated to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which helps provide support for at-risk and disadvantaged youth programs. The offering puts to rest rumors of a new album which were stoked on Genius last week — for now at least.
