Surprise or Trash? Starboy "Soundman EP Vol.1" [Full Honest Review]
Just like a thief, Wizkid dropped his new project "SoundMan EP Vol.1" when everyone in Nigeria was asleep. The Starboy Entertainment boss teams up with his official disc jockey DJ Tunez and other great producers including Blaq Jerzee, Kel P and London to serve us a 7-track EP.
The EP is another Wizkid's project with classical productions and unimaginable lyrics. Without mincing words, Wizkid most definitely dropped this project to buttress his title as the artiste of the decade.
"Soundman EP Vol.1" is universal, it cuts across afrobeat, reggae and dance hall. The sounds are unique. This is more like a collection of all Wizkid's songs that would have been leaked normally. Wizkid has been known for dropping so many unofficial singles in the past.
The concepts of these sounds and their kind of vibes are similar to all the unofficial singles Wizkid has dropped in the past. He recreates Fela's vibes making use of so many instruments in the beats. "Thankful" had a lot of trumpet and saxophone sounds in it. The lyrics are simple, educative and easy to memorize.
'Soco' and 'Joro' producer Northboi strongly believes Davido's "A Good Time" and "Rema EP" are better than 'Soundman Vol 1 EP" for obvious reasons. Wizkid worked with several producers on the EP omitting the producer which must have angered him.
Apart from the negative review stated above, Wizkid finally drops a project generally accepted by everyone in the industry. DJ's, OAP's, artistes and fans have all rendered positive reviews towards "SoundMan Vol. 1 EP".
