Ras Kass - Commercial skit by S Classic
Later this year, Ras Kass will be releasing an official sequel (and prequel) to his classic debut,Soul On Ice.

Announced back in March, Ras is planning to make SOI a trilogy with the release of two new projects in 2016—Intellectual Property(the prequel) in June, followed by Soul On Ice II in December.

IP, which is nearly complete, will feature guest spots and production from the likes of Bun B, Statik Selektah, Apollo Brown, OC, AFRO, Kurupt, Apathy, and others. While SOI2 will consist of previously-unreleased tracks from the '95 recording sessions, rare remixes, and brand-new tracks with features and production from Styles P, Alchemist, Immortal Technique, Faith Evans, and others.

Before we get into the newness, though, Ras Kass wanted to offer up aRefresher Courseto help y'all wake up from your 20 year slumber—which L.A. Weeklybroke down perfectly—on the West Coast lyricist.

He's too militant to be clickable. His lyrics are too offensive — not N-word offensive, but worldview-challenging offensive — to share.
Nobody wants rap lyrics that hold up a mirror and show their ugly, pale reflection staring back at them. So Ras Kass is too threatening to premiere; too indigestible for an album rating.
He isn’t appealing to politically correct millennials because he's too uncomfortable to bump, bitter at times, filled with unpopular viewpoints, like feminism in hip-hop.

At 41-tracks, Refresher Course highlights some of Ras' best work from his two decades in the game—including "Uni4orm" with Heltah Skeletal and Canibus, the DJ Khalil-laced "Van Gogh," tracks with Kendrick Lamar, Alchemist, Talib Kweli, Black Milk, and more.

Launched with an IndieGoGo campaign to help raise funds for the upcoming projects, the 2DBZ-premiered project can be heard below.
