LL Cool J - Doin It

Doin It is the second single released from American rapper LL Cool J‘s sixth (6th) album, Mr. Smith, on December 20, 1995. The song features LeShaun.

Ll Cool J self-produced the song with Rashad “Ringo” Smith, and it samples Jamaican singer Grace Jones’1983 single My Jamaican Guy.

Doin It was commercially successful, reaching number nine (9) on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number fifteen (15) on the UK Singles chart. Its highest peak was at number two (2) on the US Billboard Hot Rap Singles. The song Hey Lover was housed on the B-side of the single release.

“Go Brooklyn”, the crowd noise played throughout the song, is sampled from Audio Two’s Top Billin’.

The song was eventually certified gold in the US by the RIAA for sales north of 600,000 copies.
