The United States born rapper, Pop Smoke has been confirmed dead after being shot on Wednesday morning by two men suspected to be armed robbers.

Pop Smoke whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson died from multiple gunshot wounds at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, TMZ reports.

The up-and-coming rapper’s home located at Hollywood Hills was invaded by the gun-wielding men who wore face mask around 5 am on Wednesday.

They shot him and left him critically injured in his home. Unfortunately, the rapper whose mother is a Jamaican and father a Panamanian was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Tributes have started pouring in from the music world. Nicki Minaj wrote, “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.”

Marcus Stroman wrote, “RIP Pop Smoke. The world is a crazy man. Full of jealousy and hate. Find your happy and go ghost in the world. Never give them too much information. Keep to yourself and your space!”
