When I See You Smile is a rock song performed by American/British band Bad English, taken from their 1989 self-titled debut album.. Diane Warren wrote the song while Richie Zito handled the production.
Epic Records released the track on September 16, 1989 as the second single from the album.
The power ballad was largely successful and went on to become the band’s first and only US number-one hit.
It also reached Number 1 in Canada, and 4 in Australia.
