‘Coutinho Cannot Turn Down Barcelona Offer’- Ian Wright

Former professional turned pundit, Ian Wright says Liverpool star, Philippe Coutinho simply cannot pass up on a move to Barcelona this summer.

The Spanish giants have intensified their pursuit of Coutinho, in the aftermath of losing one of their prized assets Neymar to PSG.

Neymar’s eye-watering £198m world-record transfer now looks poised to set the dominoes in motion, with Liverpool potentially feeling the knock-on effect of having star man Coutinho prised from their grasp.

The Reds have already made their stance on the matter crystal clear, with manager Jurgen Klopp confirming the Brazilian will not be sold at any cost.

But Wright believes Coutinho cannot and should not turn down the lure of the Catalan side, should an acceptable bid be tabled.

“I’m not saying that they want him to replace Neymar, because I don’t think he’s that player, but if they want you you’ve got to go,” Wright said on BBC 5 live sport.

“That’s the dream, that’s why I find it baffling that Neymar has gone, he was already at the main place for me.”

“But Coutinho, he is fantastic and he will go to that next level if he goes and plays with that calibre of player. You can’t turn that down, you just can’t,” he added.
