A Thousand Miles is a baroque pop song and debut single written and recorded by American singer Vanessa Carlton, for her 2002 debut studio album Be Not Nobody.

It was produced by Curtis Schweitzer and Ron Fair, and was released on February 12, 2002 as the lead single from the album.

The single achieved widespread success worldwide, eventually becoming Carlton’s breakthrough hit and signature song, peaking at the number-five spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number six on the UK Singles chart.

A Thousand Miles dominated the chart in Australia where it has been certified 2x platinum.
