Former Lagos State Governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, has disclosed that the outgoing administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola has kept to the promises it made to the people of the state.

Tinubu, while addressing scores of APC supporters who converged on the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church Open Ground, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos for the commencement of the Akinwunmi Ambode campaign said “Fashola has perform creditable well in his administration of the state.”

Addressing the crowd of supporters, Tinubu said: “Since 2007 that I brought him (Fashola) to you and I said he will perform better that he is a man of sound brain and mind and that the person is Fashola; he did not disgrace us.

“I thank God for the eight years of unequal performance, unbroken promises, sound experience and constructive government.”
Tinubu particularly eulogised Fashola in the areas of road construction, healthcare delivery, employment of youths.
He therefore called on Lagosians to give the APC governorship candidate, Ambode, the needed support to govern the state and further develop it by voting en mass for him during the governorship election.

He asured them that he would take the state to the next level of development by building on Fashola’s legacies.
Governor Fashola, while addressing the gathering, implored the people of the state to allow the continuity of the good work in the state and enjoined them to ensure that they obtain their PVCs from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the election to enable them support the APC candidate.

“If you want Ambode to win, visit your wards and INEC office to collect you PVCs. Go to your wards and the INEC offices in your various local government areas and obtain your PVCs.
“You have till January 31 to do so if you want Ambode to win. Your right to vote is not the gift of any government. It is a right you have as a citizen in any part of the world where democracy is practised,” he told the party supporters.
In return, he also eulogised his predecessor, Tinubu, for putting on a ground the template for development in the state, saying Tinubu ”built the pillar and foundation upon which we stand.”
While addressing the party supporters, Ambode vowed to stick to the tradition of excellence that stands the state out.
He also promised to be accountable to the people.
“I have been an accountant all my life, so, I shall be accountable to all of you. I will build on the legacy of Fashola’s administration and will never disappoint you,” he said.
