Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was born in Bangkok, Thailand in April 1958.

He was a Thai billionaire businessman and the founder, owner and chairman of King Power Duty Free.

He was also the owner of Premier League football club Leicester City from 2010 until his death in a 2018 helicopter accident.

He was married to Aimon Srivaddhanaprabha,

The couple have four children together – Voramas, Apichet, Arunroong, and Aiyawatt.

Vichai founded King Power in 1989 with a single shop in Bangkok and went on building a multi-billion-dollar empire in a few years.

The name is after the country’s well-loved former monarch King Bhumibol Abulyadej.

He was ranked by Forbes magazine as the 7th richest man in Thailand, reportedly worth US$3.3 billion.

Srivaddhanaprabha bought Leicester in August 2010 for £39million.

He named his son Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha as his vice-chairman.

In May 2017, he bought his second football club, OH Leuven in Belgium.

Under his charismatic way , Leicester won the Premier League in the 2015-16 in one of the division’s biggest shocks.

Shortly before the 2016–17 season, Srivaddhanaprabha gifted 19 players a BMW i8—at £100,000 each—as a gift for winning the title.

In his spare time Srivaddhanaprabha was an avid polo player, and owned the VR Polo Club in Bangkok. He was the president of Ham Polo Club in London from 2008 to 2012.

He had always preferred to let his son Aiyawatt, who is known as “Top”, do the talking on behalf of the family.

His surname, Srivaddhanaprabha, means “light of progressive glory”.

A royal surname, it was bestowed on him by Thailand’s late king Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2012.

A devout Buddhist, Srivaddhanaprabha brought Thai monks to Leicester to bless the pitch and give lucky amulets to the players.

Fact 10 : Pathetic Helicopter Crash & the grieve end of Vichai:

Srivaddhanaprabha was picked up by his helicopter on the pitch at the King Power as he was after every Leicester home game.

Moments after taking off it crashed into the ground in the staff car park and thus the pathetic end is over.
