The former Liverpool man was the star of the show as Manuel Pellegrini’s side easily overcame the newly-promoted Cherries at the Etihad Stadium.

A first half hat-trick from Raheem Stirling sent Manchester City on their way to a dominant 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Saturday’s Premier League match.

The England international opened the scoring for the hosts and Wilfried Bony, deputising for the injured Sergio Aguero, added to City’s tally on 11 minutes.

Eddie Howe’s side did make an impact on the game with a Glenn Murray goal, before Sterling added two more before half-time to complete his hat-trick.

Bony doubled his tally late on in the second period, taking the scoring to five for the home side.
