[PHONE CONVERSATION]

DR SANYA: Hello doc

DR KOREDE: Hi boss…..
.
DR SANYA: How is d situation of things over there?

DR KOREDE: Well, we are trying our best here…..Are u at home now?

DR SANYA: Yes, at least for d past 30minutes… sorry for not calling u since
.
DR KOREDE: Oh nooo!!….I understand.., I just hope all is well at home?

DR SANYA: All is well here!….How about d deceased’s family? Have they arrived for d body?

DR KOREDE: Not at all….None of them is here yet…..
.
[ I checked my wrist watch…., d time was few minutes past 10am…]

DR KOREDE: But somebody is here who wants to speak with u….

[ I felt a little bit uncomfortable…. who could that person be…. that couldn’t call me directly?….]

DR SANYA: Who is d person, please?
.
[Dr Korede wasn’t patient enough to listen to my question, he had already handed d phone over to d person…..and d next cool voice I heard was that of a #female….]

DR SANYA: Yes….good morning
.
[ Oh…. I recognised d owner of d voice straightaway…..What could she be doing at d hospital early in that morning?]

DR SANYA: Mary….How are u?
.
[ Ladies and gentlemen, na my beloved
#Mary oooo….., my own troublesome Mary…. I braced up to face and answer her numerous questions….I have not been picking her calls of recent, so it is either I speak with her now or later…..She remained calm on phone after she realised that I have known it was her…..]

DR SANYA: Common dear, talk to me please!

MARY: Like what and what do u want to hear?

DR SANYA: I still deserve to know if u are fine now, for God’s sake, I am still your man…. I still need to know if #my_woman is fine….

MARY: Sanya, how do u expect your so-called woman to be fine when her so-called man has neither been picking her calls nor calling her for d past #48hours?

[ I remained speechless….. She continued…]

MARY: Oko iyawo, if u are not ashamed of this whole thing, I am….Imaging, I am now speaking with my man on another man’s phone all because my so-called man will not pick my call on his phone….

[Believe me guys, I felt bad…..Mary has her ways of making someone feel sorry for his sins in a way u couldn’t have imagined…..]

DR SANYA: I am sorry

MARY: Why did u keep me out of all that has been happening at your hospital?…. Am I that useless that u don’t even believe I can be of great assistant at an #emotional_time like this?

[ At this juncture, I realised that she has well been briefed of all that has been happening so far….Indeed, why haven’t I even told her?]

DR SANYA: Please dear, let’s suspend this talk for now….Of course, in this, I am not a saint but please, let me come and explain things to u at home this evening…I promise to pay u a visit at home…

MARY: Are you coming back today?
.
DR SANYA: Of course, even if I don’t want to before, I must now….. I must come and present myself to u for necessary punishment and correction….

[ I noticed she smiled slightly but she never wanted me to realise it….]

MARY: Na u sabbi

[ The next voice I heard was that of Dr Korede…..]

DR KOREDE: It is well….
.
DR SANYA: Abi now, that’s woman for u
.
DR KOREDE: She came into d hospital this morning, looking so angry like a lioness that has not been fed for d past one week…. She mounted so much pressure on me with so much of accusations and allegations that I didn’t even know when I started vomiting your whereabout to her.. , so don’t be annoyed please!

[ If Dr Korede could be talking about her like this, does that mean she is no more there?]

DR SANYA: Oh, not at all. I am not offended. Has she left that place?
.
DR KOREDE: Yes, she left immediately after handling d phone back to me…
.
DR SANYA: All right…. and u said the deceased’s family has not shown up…
.
DR KOREDE: At all, I haven’t seen them, not even d wife
.
DR SANYA: OK then. I will be back this afternoon.
.
DR KOREDE: OK boss….Have a safe journey back here

DR SANYA: Thanks a lot ore…. Later!

[ END OF PHONE CONVERSATION…. ]

>>> At that moment, my mind was completely off my hometown…. I needed to go back to Ibadan. Firstly, to settle scores with my #fiancée (Mary)….and secondly to monitor the burial of my beloved #life_safer (Yusuf) …. and thirdly, I must commence my mission into d cause of Yusuf’s death as quick as possible…..

>>> I went straight into dad’s bedroom to inform him that I would be travelling back to #Ibadan in d next few minutes….. Contrary to what I had expected, daddy never argued with me over it….He simply freed me, saying that I should promise him that I would act on all he had discuss with me……
