>>>After speaking with my Mary on Dr Korede’s phone, I became restless….. I wanted to return to Ibadan as quick as possible…..

>>>Two hours later, at exactly 12:15pm, I gathered myself together to leave the town of #Agodiagba back to #Ibadan….. My dad looked on at me as if I shouldn’t leave again, indeed I knew he was going to miss me, but what can I do? The situations over there in Ibadan were already missing me…….My dad and I were forced to bid ourselves farewell…, his gatekeeper (Alomo) opened d gate for me and I drove out …..

>>My journey to Ibadan lasted for 2hours 12minutes…..Finally, I was in Ibadan…. I went straight to my hospital….. I had to resume duty so that Dr Korede too could go and catch some rest at home….. He was so happy to see me. He went home while I remained….
.
>>>I was in my office at around after 2pm, going through certain files when I heard a knock on d door….. I asked d person in, lo and behold, it was d wife of d deceased (Yusuf)….. I was so surprised and at the same happy to see her….I quickly offered her seat infront of me….and we began to talk:

DR SANYA: You are welcome madam
.
MRS YUSUF: Thank u doctor….
.
[ I needed to know why she had come…]

DR SANYA: Is d family now ready for d corpse??
.
MRS YUSUF: Not at all. We are having a slight adjustment in d burial arrangement, and that is what I have come to notify d hospital since we have said we would be coming this morning….

DR SANYA: It is ok…. Just take your time, whenever u are ready, just notify us….

MRS YUSUF: Thanks so much doctor….. You have been so amazing since I brought my late husband here, even in his death, u remain #solid for him. The second doctor told me u said we are not owing d hospital a kobo, that all expenses are on you….

[ I maintained a slight smile….]

DR SANYA: All d glory be to God.

MRS YUSUF: But sir, something is not yet clear to me….
.
[ I became so keen to know what she was trying to say…]

DR SANYA: What’s that?
.
MRS YUSUF: Sir, please don’t be offended by this my question o: please, why are u this kind to my family?
.
[ I maintained a #broad smile….. it was a simple question with complex answer but I needed to be as brief as possible because the time for real talk has not come…..]

DR SANYA: Madam, I am not being kind to your family, I am simply honouring the memory of my dear friend…

[ The woman seemed confused d more…]

MRS YUSUF: Your #dear friend?….Doctor, did u just called my #late husband your dear friend?
.
DR SANYA: Yes, he was my dear friend…..
.
MRS YUSUF: How? Have u guys met before now?
.
DR SANYA: Yes, we met while he was alive….
.
[ She looked on at me in total surprise.. ]

DR SANYA: You are surprised…… Ok, let me shock you d more… I have once met u too before ….. and that was before the day that u brought your husband here…..

[ She hung down her head immediately, appearing to be trying to re-collect “where”….]

DR SANYA: To shock u the more….. There is a scar on your thigh….
.
[ She, nodding in agreement……Mrs Yusuf opened her mouth in shock, looking at me as if she had seen a ghost…..]

DR SANYA: I hope u still remember how u got that scar?
.
MRS YUSUF: Yes, of course….
.
DR SANYA: You remember it was as a result of a bike accident u had back then in school….., if u haven’t forgotten, u will remember that d accident claimed d life of d rider…..
.
[ In total shock, she stood up at once, came closer to my seat as she looked on speechlessly at me…..]

DR SANYA: Yes, I might have forgotten your name, but I still remember everything about you…..
.
[ I stood up and moved closer to her too…..]

DR SANYA: Young woman, look at my face very well…..Are u sure this face of mine is still totally strange to u??
.
[ She further moved closer to me…. We remain standing in front of each other, she looked on #deeply into my eye balls just to ascertain if she had ever come across me before……Few seconds later, she spoke out: ]

MRS YUSUF: Your face is not totally strange to me too….. But wait a minute, are u being kind because of me or because of my late husband??

[ What an intelligent question!]

DR SANYA: ( Frankly) Both
.
[ A knock was heard on d door…I didn’t like d interruption because I was enjoying my conversation with Mrs Yusuf…..All the same, I asked d person in, it was my most senior nurse, # nurse_Gbemisola ….. She was sweating and shivering at the same time….. What could the problem be? I asked myself…..Both Mrs Yusuf and I looked on at her expectantly to start talking…]

NURSE GBEMI: Oh doctor…. U have a visitor… Please sir, I need to talk to u
.
DR SANYA: Nurse Gbemi, what is d matter?
.
[ She remained #speechless rather than talking, she was just #shivering….]
.
DR SANYA: Common, talk me…
.
NURSE GBEMI: (Shivering) I need to talk to u sir…
.
DR SANYA: And this is me before u, so start talking…..
.
>>>What could this nurse have seen to warrant the kind of shock on her, as a matter of fact, she was a senior nurse, meaning that even if they have brought accident victims in, she shouldn’t be displaying such #drama ….. Or has Yusuf risen from d dead? …. So many thoughts on my mind within seconds…..

[Nurse Gbemi turned to look at Mrs Yusuf….. Mrs Yusuf, on her own side got d message, she stood up to leave….]

MRS YUSUF: Doctor, let me excuse u…..

[ Mrs Yusuf left us there and closed d door before I could alter a word…..I stood up immediately]

DR SANYA: Nurse Gbemi, for God’s sake, can u tell me what is happening here?

NURSE GBEMI: (Still shivering in sweat) Doctor, the…………
