√√What did I just hear? Yusuf raped my own Mary few weeks to his death? Could this be true or these people are just trying to frame things up just to draw
#sympathy and #justification for the act of killing….??? I was swept off balance, my legs were shaking inside my trousers…..,even Mrs Yusuf looked fed-up of the whole thing since she kept on discovering #dirty things about her late husband and his family….. I never even knew the next question to ask until our
#mysterious ADEOLA came to my rescue:

ADEOLA: (Talking to Mary) When precisely did Yusuf rape you?

MARY: (Amidst tears) It was on the 4th of last month….

ADEOLA: Meaning that it is now 5weeks ago, right?

MARY: Yes!

ADEOLA: But ore, you never told your man…..why?

MARY: Habaa! Why are u talking as if you don’t understand Nigerian men….., even if you don’t, will u say you can’t predict what this Sanya can do again in such situation if told?

[ Adeola had a #deep breath…..Our mysterious Adeola is not the kind of person you can lie to, she seemed to know everything….. Since she wasn’t ready to question Mary further, I knew she was satisfied by all her responses…..]

DR SANYA: All that aside, where and how did he rape you?

MARY: Yusuf was an old friend of mine back then on campus, even before you and I met…..We were so intimate to the extent that I started expecting him to #propose to me but he never did, he was so deep in love with a JAMBITO he met when he was in year three… Since he wasn’t ready to commence the journey of #love with me, I decided to move on…., but throughout, even after our NYSC, we never lost contact…. Yusuf started disturbing me to date him about 6months ago now….I turned him down severally because I never wanted to cheat on you but the guy won’t listen….He kept on pressurising me and my excuse too kept on remainning the same that I was already in love with someone else……Throughout this period, I reduced my #intimacy with him… About 3months ago, Yusuf stopped talking about it, according to him when I thanked him for his #understanding, he said it was his fault that if he had opened up to me about his feelings then, another man wouldn’t have had me before him. I was so glad he could come to that understanding and soon, we got back to our old intimate ways of doing things, not knowing that he was pretending to me in order to have a bite of the #cake….. I was used to his house and he too was used to mine. In fact, he introduced a girlfriend of his to me one day, I became so much comfortable around him. 5weeks ago, on the 4th precisely, last month, around 11:25pm in the night, hard knocks on my door woke me up…., opening the door, I saw Yusuf standing. As a good friend, I allowed him in. When I enquired of where he was coming from at that #ungodly hour of the day, he replied that he stayed late at a friend’s place and that it was dangerous of him going back home at the time due to the heavy security of #night_watchmen in his street. Knowing all these, I asked him why he never wanted to spend the night with the friend….Believe me, Yusuf still #cleverly answered me, saying that some friends are too dangerous to pass the night with. (#Mary_had_a_deep_breath) When he noticed that my questions were becoming too much, he told me he only wanted to pass the night right there on the floor of my sitting room and that I could go back to my room…. I trusted him and I allowed him. But rather than keeping to his words, Yusuf woke up in the middle of the night, came to my room and forcefully had canal knowledge of me….

[ Mary finally bursted into #uncontrollable tears….Adeola whose eyes too were suffused with tears for Mary went closer to her to pet her….]

DR SANYA: (Almost crying) But daddy, what was our crime to the family of Yusuf?…….. His father forcefully dated my mother and the son too forcefully had sexual knowledge of my fiancée….Why???

[ Instead of getting response from my dad, it was our mysterious ADEOLA that replied me…]

ADEOLA: Sanya, I have a question for you….

DR SANYA: Yes, go ahead…, I’m listening

ADEOLA: If you had known all these revelations about Yusuf and his father before now, would you still have done everything you did to try to save Yusuf’s life when he was rushed to your hospital?

MARY: I never even had the thought of taking his life initially…. I expected him to show signs of #remorse after the act, but instead of apologising to me, he started boasting….., at a time, he was even
#threatning me that he would report the act to my guy and that my guy would breakup with me for him to then have me….. I doubt it if he knew it was you, his friend….. I replied him that I trusted you …., that you can’t break up with me on the note of that, that was when he then said the #worst …..(#paused)

DR SANYA: (Anxiously) What did he say?

MARY: He vowed to kill you

DR SANYA: What!

[ Adeola smiled ]

MARY: Your Yusuf said he wouldn’t mind taking your life for him to have me….I didn’t even gave it much thought at first until when it was only me at home…. He could kill you, he had always been a desperate guy since he was a
#hard_hearted cultist back then on campus. The fact that I didn’t want to lose you, coupled with the fact that he hurt me without any apology made me to decide to act fast……

DR SANYA: (Deep breath) Hmmmmmm

MARY: Sanya, I did my home work on you and I got to know your home town address…..

DR SANYA: Why?

MARY: I was planning hard to take Yusuf’s life for the safety of the two of us. If Yusuf’s father could kill your own mother in cold blood, what assurance do I have that the son would think twice before taking your own life….killing runs in their blood. So, I deemed it necessary to carry your only remainning parent along

DR SANYA: What gave you the confidence then that my father would want to be part of the #murder ??

MARY: My instinct…. it has never failed me

[ My father cut in ]

FATHER: Yes, your woman contacted me and explained everything to me….. Since it concerned your safety, I didn’t mind killing even Mr President. We had an elaborate plan that would make it difficult for the police to trace the #murder back to us and we hatched it… But believe me, I never knew he was also a child to the late Engineer Badmus Alabi Olaosebikan

MRS YUSUF: (Grieving) I have always known that his lifestyle would send him to early grave…, so I warned him but he wouldn’t listen

FATHER: We made research about his life for good two weeks, including his house and work place addresses…..When all these were successfully done, we needed the help of a medical personnel for a #slow_poison …., no other name came to mind apart from your assistant’s name…., I mean Dr Korede here….. We also explained the situation to him and after much persuasion, he agreed to join us. To administer it became another problem…. We needed somebody inside his own house …..and unfortunately for us, he had no #house_maid that we could contact …..The only person living with him was this his wife, we couldn’t contact his wife to help us poison her husband now, abi who would do that? We decided to re-strategise and we started thinking of another way of using our newly acquired #slow_poison tablet from Dr Korede….

MARY: Dear, do u remember the day you came to my house from work to tell me that you noticed a car trailed you to my house from office?

MARY: I was terribly scared …. I had to called my own team also that we needed to speed up action on our suspect before he gets to our person which is you

DR KOREDE: Yes, it’s true. I got to recognise Yusuf through a photograph of his provided to us through your Mary. So, a day came that I saw him being dropped by an okada rider at a mechanic workshop very close to my own house…. I over-heard him telling the bike-man to awaits his call. From there, I knew they must be close. So, I went after the bike man and I got to know his (bike man) house.The people living around the house made me to understand that his name is #Dayo….. In the evening of that same day, I visited him and we talked….

DAYO: Yes, Dr Korede visited me. He told me their plan. At first, I declined but when an offer of 500k was presented to me, I changed mind…, after all Mr Yusuf no be my family member…. I was just his personal okada man whenever he wasn’t going out with his car… Who wouldn’t accept such #bountiful and #mouth_watering offer to terminate a stingy man like Mr Yusuf??…. Few days to that time, I still went to him for financial assistance….I needed just 3k to take my sick mother for treatments at a nearby general hospital, but he turned me down, telling me that he was in #recession….na him be Nigeria? Imagine, a whole M.D of K&K plastic company….

MARY: Dayo did not have access to his kitchen but he told us he could be having access to his food the following morning, provided his mechanic wasn’t able to resolve the fault of his car quickly. We were happy and we started hoping for our luck the following day……

DAYO: At around 9 o’clock the following morning, I called Dr Korede to meet me at a particular junction with the #poison …..

[ Dayo turned to Mrs Yusuf]

DAYO: Madam, you made the killing of your husband so easy for us…

MRS YUSUF: (Crying) How?

DAYO: I was the one who came to pick him at home the morning his food was poisoned because his mechanic wasn’t through yet on his car….. I overheard him telling you to help him bring his food to his office later in the day….but you said you won’t. He appealed to you longer but you remained adamant. You advised he could send me, his bike man home to get the food for him. Indeed, he agreed to send me to bring him the food and that was how we had the opportunity to carry out our intention

MRS YUSUF: (Crying) I didn’t just insist that I won’t bring the food to his office…. It was because the last time I visited his office to give him lunch, I met him with another woman in a romantic mood right inside his office. He was just too
flirty. Ever since then, I have vowed never to step my feet into his office again….

FATHER: That was the decision of yours that favoured us…

DR KOREDE: Yes, it favoured us and Yusuf was poisoned. He never knew he had been poisoned until after 3days… By then, it was difficult to trace it to anybody, not even to this Dayo, his okada man. Since the deceased was no longer available to be questioned, the only suspect remained you, the wife.

MRS YUSUF: Oh my God!!!!

MAJOR QUESTION ON MY MIND: This Adeola must be indeed mysterious…abi, how did she know that these people were connected to the murder of Yusuf, after all she wasn’t part of them? Hmmmmm
