Story of a Survivor - Season 1 - Episode 36

I set to work, I do not like to disappoint my
clients, when I tell you that your dress will be
ready in two days, so shall it be. I had high
profile Clients and I do not take them for
granted. I recruited two professional Tailors that graduated from “Delectable” .

The work load was too much for only me. I also anchor several Parties; my leisure time was on Sundays after Church service. Captain would take me out to places, he always had some where to go and catch fun on Sundays.

Captain taught me how to drive, whenever we
were together, he made me drive, he taught me all the Traffic Codes, I improved speedily
because he was such a good teacher, he taught me to consider every other driver as being unstable and as such could drive reckless at any point in time, he taught me never to assume while on the steering but should be calculative and confidence of my every move. He got me a Driver’s license after two Months of training me to drive.

Loneliness became history in my life, while at
home I had the Company of my Sisters and my
friends. Captain comes around almost every day and I looked forward to his visits. Whenever he called on phone we talked at length as if the calls were for free. I do not call him when he is on call duty except if it is very important, if he calls me and he senses that I am at the middle of something, he tactically cuts the call with a promise to call back, when I become less busy, I then call him, the understanding was mutual.

At the Shop I was always surrounded by people and activities: Attending to Clients, supervising my workers and teaching the apprentices.

The Clients! They kept coming.

December and January rush came again and it
was all work as usual. By the 10th of December, we had stopped collecting Jobs at “Derbie Couture” all my weekends were spent at Parties I planned: Weddings, funerals, Chieftaincy ceremonies, birthday bashes, survival parties, send forth parties, the list is endless.

I was overwhelmed with work.

Captain had to ease up a little from his visits just to allow me focus on the works at hand. The money was pouring in.

my three bank accounts were in seven digits!
Silvia was also doing great, she had several local endorsements, she was the face of Delta Soap and she was on bill boards all over Coal City.

She appeared on some musical videos, she
featured in some home movies, and she was one of the five models on the pay list of “Ankara” African fabric. she was networking with some local and international models. And this Lady had been wasting out in the Barracks.

She was like a Tiger just let into the Jungle after being in a cage for years, she was simply exploring and discovering. She was venturing into everything that needed her looks and she was getting paid.

During the recess period before the Easter rush, Captain collected some Money from me an d bought two laptop Computers for me. One was for the house and the other for “Derbie Couture”.
