With his assistance and that of Tochi and Amara, Pauline and I started to develop Computer skills and my entry into the word of information and communication technology.

I learnt how to write
reports and proposals using Microsoft word
office, I learnt how to use excel to tabulate
events and activities and how to priorities my
activities.

I loved the power point application the most because I could upload pictures of my
designs unto slides for presentations to Clients.

I learnt how to use the internet and that was when I knew I had being living in the past even though I was physically in the present.

It was another world already densely populated with surfers.

I joined several social networking groups on the net.

Captain arranged with a system engineer
and a website was opened for “Derbie Couture” The business we got through the network almost superseded what we got from our regular Clientele.

The Easter rush that year was so
much that I could not cope with the work
pressure. I had to hire three professionals to
assist me at the Shop.

I had been living with some fears; the fears
became so palpable that I had to confide in my
captain: Things were happening so fast in my life and I feared I might be heading for doom; I was like a moving train. It is nit natural for things to be so good in someone’s life, for life is not a bed of Roses.

Pauline was doing great, Tochi and
Amara were preparing for various exams,
N.E.C.O, S.S.C.E,J.A.M.B.

Secondly, I was overwhelmed by so much work that I hardly had time for Captain and I felt my captain was drifting away, he could be feeling abandoned and may seek for comfort and attention elsewhere.

Thirdly, I was a millionaire by every standard and I was scared! The monies in my accounts
intimidate me that sometimes I get scared that I may be embezzled by fraudsters because my Bankers kept approaching me with varying business ideas and urging me to open several types of accounts simply because they have access to my accounts and have seen my worth.

My forth fear was that of Dupe! A girl that keeps calling captain at odd hours.

She is Yoruba and based in Ife, and knows his family.

Though Captain had tried to allay my fears, I still nurse a secret fear.

I also told Captain of my fears of the House we
live in, we were all Girls and some Boys have
started coming around hunting for my sisters. I needed protection. I was a rich single Girl.

One after the other captain doused my fears: he told me not to be scared of the way things were turning out for me; he said there is time for everything.

A time to weep And I time to laugh;
he said I had wept for too long so I should not
be scared to laugh now; he said life is not a bed of roses, but do you realize that roses actually have thorns? He asked me:
you have dwelled
long enough on the thorny side of your Rose,
now you have to enjoy the petals of the Rose.

He said I have paid my dues.
