My mum just called to inform me that she wont be able to come back to the boutique, that i will need to find my way back home. I had not brought my car sine we rode together this morning in her own car. I was expecting she will come back to pick me up but somehow things didnt work out the way bcause what she needed to do took longer than expected. What do i do now ? I hate taking public transport. I decided to call Kimberly. I dialled her number and she answered at the third ring.

Kimberly: Hey babe.

Lucia: Hey. Please could you drop by the boutique to give me a ride home ?

Kimberly: What happened to your caq ?

Lucia: Its a long story.

Kimberly: All right, i’m almost through with work. I’ll be there.

Lucia: I will be waiting.

About thirty minutes later, she called and said she was close. So i came out to the car part to wait for her. When a car pulled up in front of me, it wasnt Kimberly’s but to my utmost surprise, it was Chris. He rolled down the glasses and greeted.

Chris: Hi

Lucia: Hi

Chris: Nice to see you again.

Lucia: What are you doing here ? Because this couldn’t have been a concidence.

Chris: Kimberly called me.

Lucia: (i cut in) What ?

Chris: She said you needed a ride home that she will be working late.

Lucia: She could have told me. Thank you very much, it was nice of you to have offered to help but i think i will be fine.

Chris: Come one, dont be like this.

Lucia: I said i will be fine.

Chris: I’m doing this as a favour for Kimberly, you wouldnt want to turn it down.

Lucia: Ok fine. I am only taking this ride because of Kimberly not you.

Chris: Thank you.

I enter his car and he drove off. Just to satify my curiousity. I asked

Lucia: Were you not busy when she called you ?

Chris: As a matter of fact i was but that can wait.

Lucia: Why would you do that ?

Chris: Its Kimberly that asked and its about you.

Lucia: (i was confused by his response but i couldnt help but asked). Why are you doing all these ?

Chris: To earn your trust, i just want to be your friend.

Lucia: Just a friend ?

Chris: Well, um ! May not just a friend exactly.

At this time, we’ve gotten to the front of my house and i said to him.

Lucia: Its okay here. Thank you very much for the ride, i really do appreciate it even though its a favour for Kimberly ( i said as i got down from the car ).

Chris: Anytime. Just so you know, i wont stop trying.

Lucia: Goodluck with that. Bye. Take care.

Chris: You too.

He drove off.
