The Darkest Hour - Season 2 - Episode 22

“Stop calling her names, mum!” David shouted. “Accusing her wrongly is enough already! What has she done to you?!”
“Are you shouting at me, David?”
“What’s the noise all about?” Mr
Robinson came out. Nobody told the wife to enter into her room while David remaind standing staring at his father. Just then, Udoka came out walking towards the door.
“Williams” Mr Robinson called her by her surname. She turned as she dried her tears with a handkerchief.
“I’m sorry, sir but i have to go”
“I’m sorry too my daughter. My wife could be mean sometimes. I’ll like to see you again” Mr Robinson said.
Udoka nodded her head then walked out before David sat down with his father. He told him all that Udoka told him then left too.

Inside the car, as David drove faster going back to school, Udoka didn’t say a word. There is nothing David did not say to make her talk but she never opened her mouth. After an hour, Udoka slept off with her head rested on the seat but it kept dangling off. Her skirt slightly opened from her thighs and breast stood firm. Seeing that, David pulled over. He bent the seat she was sleeping on horizontally and covered her up with his jacket. He romantically slid her hair backward, kissed her on the forehead and drove off again. Just before they got to school, Udoka woke up. She found herself covered and her seat lying
horizontally then she set it vertical again. To David’s surprise, she looked at him with a smile and said, “Thank you. Your wife will enjoy you”
“Why? Am i a plate of food?” David asked smiling back at her.
“Don’t you know?”
“Then eat me”
“You think i can’t eat you, abi” Udoka grabbed his neck and began to kiss him while David giggled.

“I’m driving oh!” he shouted under his breath then pulled over instantly, yet Udoka was still kissing him which he reciprocated fully and surprisingly. Udoka quit the kiss and looked into his eyes.
“I love u so much”
“I love u more dear” David replied.
“Oya, take me home”
“Yes, ma!” David drove off while Udoka slot in a music and sang along..
David kept smiling as Udoka sang along with the music by a purpolar Nigerian artist, Davido. Something was strange: why did Udoka suddenly forget about Mrs Robinson’s accusation and reactions towards her and became extremely happy within a twinkle of an eye? David couldn’t figure out the answer to that question. As he kept glancing at udoka with a smile, he also began to forget his mother’s troubles. Udoka raised her two hands in the air and shook her body romantically to the music. “..money fall on me, banana fall on me..” she kept singing. It got to an extent David was moved by the music too so he joined her.

7:30pm
At the twins resident, the gate opened and the ray of light from Udoka’s car shone on the building thereby reflecting on the glass windows. Seeing that, Adaku and Faith came out in bumshorts. The light reflected on their smiling faces then David, the driver, smiled too. He put the car to a stop, came out, opened the next door for Udoka and kissed her.
“Hmmm!!” Adaku and Faith made an amusing sound smiling seriously.
Udoka wanted to handle David’s jacket back to him but he rejected it saying, “You can keep it”
“For real?”
“Yeah”
“Thanks” Udoka kissed him again and wanted to walk away but David waved the car key to her in a way for her to take it along. “No, drive yourself to the campus, I’ll pick it up tomorrow when i come to school” Udoka added.
“Alright” David waved at the two girls who reciprocated before he drove out. The three girls watched him until the car vanished before all entered inside.
“Madam, Udoka..” Adaku began. She was standing while Udoka and Faith were sitting looking at her. “Now, tell me, when are we going for the wedding?” Adaku placed her hand on the waist staring at Udoka who glanced at Faith surprisingly.
“Whose wedding?” Udoka questioned.
“Your wedding of course”
“Lekwanum aya oh!” Udoka exclaimed in igbo language.
However, Faith had been giggling
without saying a word.
“I know David must have proposed to you” Adaku continued. “Because the kind of happy both of you are today has no comparison”

“Abeg, let me pass!” Udoka stood up. “No be only wedding and proposal. We shall be having our Child’s dedication tomorrow” she added then Faith burst out laughing. When Udoka got to the door of their room, she turned and asked, “Where is my sister?”
“I have used her for rituals” Adaku
replied.

Udoka stared at her with a smile then entered into the room to see Monica sleeping. That was unusual. Monica hardly sleep at that time except something strange was about to happen or happened to her. Therefore, Udoka stared at her steadily then her mind went to Sandra instantly.
