12midnight

Now comes the darkest hour Sandra and Kate had been preparing for a whole week. For one to prepare for a journey using the whole week shows the gravity and powerful of the journey. The two girls were on black attire inside a car running like never before. The tires of the car experienced a different rotation because Kate was the driver. The road was lonely and dark with the
chirping sound of crickets. Where they were going to was something Sandra couldn’t write home about. When they got to particular place they stepped down facing a narrowed road. Kate saw Sandra shaking then said, “Put yourself together. Are you ready?”
Sandra exhaled deeply and replied
saying, “I’m ready.” That time of the night wasn’t only the darkest hour but also a hazardous hour. One could see a narrow road before the two girls, Sandra and Kate who wore black gowns without footwears. In Kate’s hands were a torchlight, two seeds of Maize and a broom stick. She broke it into two equal parts and handed one to Sandra who hesitantly took it from her. It was
obvious that Kate had embarked on the journey before, and it was an onslaught and proactive one.
“Enclose the broom stick with your lips. In no account must you talk until we reach our destination” Kate told Sandra.
She did the same thing and moved forwards through the narrow road followed by Sandra. Grasses flung on their legs as they walked briskly. The more they walked, the darker the forest became. Who is/are the owner of the dark forest of Ikuku, and what lies in it? Those were questions that was running through the mind of Sandra. Nevertheless, she quickened her steps. The ray of light from the torchlight only illuminated at a close range.
After thirty minutes of walking, the girls got to a place where there were few grasses but many tall trees standing in rolls. Sandra stopped and glanced at every angel of the forest then became
scared due to the darkness and strange sounds she was hearing. Her legs vibrated and lips shook regardless the broom stick enclosed in them. Kate turned after she didn’t hear her footsteps anymore then flashed the torchlight on her face. She waved her hand to her in way that shows: COME! As Sandra wanted to move forward, the ground began to shake thereby making her fall on the ground…

At the resident of Mr Robinson inside his room, he woke up and put on the light. One could see him on boxers while his wife was covered with a blanket. Immediately he tapped her, she woke up.
“What’s it my husband?” the wife sat up robbing her sleepy eyes.
“I want you to tell me what happened today” the husband requested and glanced at the wall clock: 12:15am. “What happened yesterday rather?” he added.
