My instagram Love - Season 1 - Episode 57

“You know I got you—always!” Francesca chipped in almost immediately, smiling. “Lead the way, Smally. After you!”
“Thanks, ma’am!” Alice continued to ascend the stairs, hastening her pace. “I love you!”

“I love you back!” Francesca packed the dishes and the cutlery into the tray, carried it and followed my daughter up the stairs. She didn’t even spare me a glance, hiss rudely or give me one of her signature middle finger gestures which was more than a shock to me. Admittedly, that was a first. For once she behaved like a normal human being, and I was impressed even though there was the possibility that she was just feigning decency because of Alice’s presence. However, I shrugged it off and went back to sit on one of the chairs situated at the dining table. I wanted to pick the DSTV remote so that I could change the station, but I saw something even better right there—Francesca’s smartphone. When I pressed the power button, I assumed I’d meet a lock screen which required a password, a pattern or even worse, a fingerprint method, but there was no hindrance at all. Relieved, I utilized the chance at once. After locating her Instagram app, I opened it right away, signed out of her account and finally logged into mine after what seemed like ages of being on social media. There were tons of notifications and messages waiting for me to open, but those were the least of my worries. I was after someone who was more important to me than all of them put together.

I was quite sure that she wasn’t aware of my present condition because she would’ve dropped a text message or called me instead. Lola wasn’t someone who took little things to heart. I was hoping she would’ve realized what made me react the way I did on the night when we met face to face. I wasn’t prepared for what I saw on that particular night. As a flawed human, I’m bound to make certain mistakes in life, and that was exactly what happened. I messed up big time.
