Story: Campus Life. Girls. Ghetto. Garri. Glory - Season 1 - Episode 14

Kposa! A thunderous and sounding Igbatislap landed on Emma’s head. Was thiswhat he meant by ‘The Hand ofOjimoimoi?’. I was surprised when Emmadidn’t take it as anything but begansinging, ‘Ojimoimoi Ojimoimoi go give me moneyOjimoimoi’ He happily chorused. The baba sprinkled a little amount ofwater on Emma’s head making it wetand ready for another kabashing slap. Kpowa! I changed the sound effects. Thisslap, this time no be here.

Choi, Emma’sshining head was now glowing red ( seerhymes abeg), Emma’s voice dropped abit when he chorused, ‘Ojimoimoi Ojimoimoi go give me moneyOjimoimoi’ The baba then cleaned the water fromEmma’s head with a napkin then hepoured some quantities of groundnut oilon Emma’s head, making it as smooth asa newly built road by Julius berger as itsparkled ‘Brighter than a Diamond’.

‘Kpawai!’ Was it only me or was Emma’shead smoking with butterflies circlingaround it. This slap na die!. Emma’s voicechanged instantly and became more faintas he chorused ‘Ish, aish, Ojimoimoi Ojimoimoi ouch gogive me money, Ojimoimoi’ The baba was busy humming his usual‘Ojimoimoi’ incantations. He reached forthe powder, pouring some on Emma’shead. Now Emma’s head dazzled andsparkled more than the seven stars. Kaboom! This slap was not only soundingbut was deafening. Emma’s voice hadnow changed to cries. ‘Ojimoimoi go give mtchew Moimoi’ I couldnt hold back my laughter. Emmawas already broken and one more slapcould result in unforseen outcomes. Kposa! Kpowa! Kpawai! Kaboom! Fourgraduating slaps landed on Emma’s ‘Ipity’ head.

By now, Emma was not justcrying but was wailing. Who wouldn’twail? ‘Ojimoimoi mtchew Oji Oji moimoi, yaymy head’ Emma cried As if the baba hadn’t had enough, hepulled the ultimate string which EvenEmma couldn’t resist. The baba sprinkled quantities of wateron Emma’s head, then added groundnutoil to it, finally mixing it up with a gust ofpowder. Looking at Emma’s head fromwhere I sat, I began to feel sorry for him(sorry It). His head had turned naturally red, with the outline of The baba’s handall over it.

I sat keenly looking at whatthe baba wanted doing next when hebaptized and rained Emma’s head with adownfall of slaps. Kpa! Kpa! Kposa! Kpowa! Kpawai!Kaboom! The baba rained Emma’s headwith slaps while Emma screamed jerkingup in the process. Wait, am looking for the sound effects touse here. Shey, you all have watched Tom& Jerry? Those sounds made by Tom afterJerry gets back at him or revenges.

‘Yay! Wayo! Wayo! Haba mallam maiyesakaimini kaka, which meant, Choi mallam, wetin I do wey make you do me so?’Emma screamed holding his bald head, sorry bald red head as he ran out of thehouse. I never knew he understood hausa. ‘My pikin, na you be next to receive thehand of Ojimoimoi’ The baba said to me,while I hissed and stood up jejely. I didn’t need to be told to park my kayaand leave that place else I might evenreceive worst than Emma.

To hell withmoney making rituals. Emma learnt his lesson and from that dayon, I never failed to tease him aboutwhat happened in the baba’s shrine. Oh and ofcourse, Emma’s head is nowgrowing in full scale, he couldn’t go tolectures for two complete weeks due tohis bad head, or bald head.
