“Oh my God!” exclaimed Vanessa as well as the rest of the guest.

“He’s going to propose to her!” Someone from the crowd said.

“Vanessa Walter. Will you marry me?” he took the ring from her, looked up at her while she used both palms of hers to cover her mouth in shock and joy.

The paparazzi tugged their way through the crowd, aiming their camera at the new couples.

“Yes! Yes i will marry you!” Replied Vanessa giving him her finger. The cameras flash light flashed more than a dozen times, capturing every moment. Sadiq stood up, giving her a tight hug.

“You did good.” he whispered into her ear.

“So did you.” she whispered back.
After their little fiasco and drama, the event continued.

“What ever you two are planning, just give it up.” Jennifer, standing in front of their table.

“Why? You think everyone is as scheming as you are?” Sadiq.

“No. Because i know Vanessa, and the Vanessa i know is incapable of love. Why else do you think she has been single!” Jennifer.

Vanessa almost stood up and raged at her.

Sadiq held her palm, calming her down.
“Then you are in for more surprises!” replied Vanessa calmly then instructed one of the party waiter to come. “Please kindly escort this lady out of here. She has overstayed her welcome and if she resist, use force!”
“I think i can find my way.” She said, walking away.

Her insinuation about Vanessa was right.

That’s why she was pissed. Only Jennifer knew because they had shared some secrets in the past. She found it hard to love anyone, she could care for you, but to love you? She couldn’t! She didn’t know why. It might had come from her genes. Maybe from her father who barely showed his love or her mum who doesn’t feel her husband’s absence no matter how long he was gone for.

“I love you……. and i know you still love me.”

Eze spurted the words to Sarah. He was drunk.

“Get your drunk brain out of here!” Jojo.
“Relax mister…mister ape.” He chuckled. “You are just an ugly chapter in her life.” Eze stammered, failing to gain balance.

“Eze go away before you cause a scene.” Sarah worriedly.

“No…let us go away. Let’s run…run away” he grabbed her hand pulling her with him.

“I was hoping to do this soon.” Said Jojo, his punch meeting Eze on his face.

“Oh my God!” Screamed Sarah.

From nowhere Sadiq appeared. “Hey. I forgot to say this; welcome to Nigeria.” And his punch threw Jojo over several tables. “No one punches my friend.” He gave Eze a hand.

“What’s happening here!” Vanessa’s grand dad came forward. “Now you two out of this place!” he ordered Jojo and Eze. Sarah accompanied Jojo who had his lips bleeding.

“I know what you are about to say.” Sadiq holding his fist out of pain.

“Actually i wanted to say you did a great job.

This is the moment where i am supposed to kiss you.” She said pressing an ice block against his fist. “But rather an ice block will suffice.”
“Oh come on!” Sadiq and Vanessa laughed.

He wasn’t really anticipating the kiss. The one he got from her minutes ago was not what he expected a kiss would be like. It was his first kiss, and it was void and not magical. There was this blankness from the kiss, like it was a hug from a friend.

He remembered the first time he got kissed, on the cheeks by Vanessa. It was during their secondary school days, the night of the graduation party after he walked her home. She pecked him on his cheeks and ran away shyly.

Staggering outside, Eze loosened his shirt, putting force on his bleeding nose.

“Need a ride?” a lady voice sounded from a car.

Eze nodded.

“Then get in.” she said and smiled. “Hi. I am Jennifer.”

“Eze.” they shooked hands and he fell asleep.

“Today didn’t end as bad as we had imagined.” Vanessa later that night.

“Yes. I guess we pulled off our stunt. They all bought it.” Sadiq.

“We’re already on the news.” Vanessa with her tablet. “One blog says ;The youngest couples of our time. And another blog says ; Drama as drama queen get engaged.”

“That’s nothing compared to this.”

Showing her another news about them on a forum. “Just read the comments.”

She moved down. And read the comments;
