#Ali’s Story Continues#

She was elegantly dressed in her pink dress.She walked into the banking hall, her pointed shoe announcing her arrival minutes before you saw her.

She wore that kind of dress that convinces you that heaven is missing an angel.

The aroma of her perfume would easily finish a bowl of eba for its sweetness.

And the phone which she gingerly held to her ear, without minding the security guy frantically waving at her that calls are not allowed in banking halls, will cost a small fortune.

She stepped forward, picked a deposit slip and searched frantically for a pen.

About five guys offered her their pens but, shame to bad people, she took mine maybe because I was the closest to her.

After a while, or a long while because time stood still, she stood up and inched closer to me.

She whispered: “Please can you spell ‘thirty’ for me?”
I looked down at her deposit slip in surprise.

She’d written: ‘tarty tausan’!
Christ in me, i hissed and snatched my biro (pen) from her hand. Fine face, no brains i mummered to myself.

“Hey dude, why did you do that…. She hissed on me. I really wanted to snub her but she pulled me gently by the sleeve saying”please am sorry for hissing at you.

Her apology melted my heart that i quickly forgot about my anger.This lady really needed my help.She couldn’t even spell common thirty thousand.

I asked her to give me her cashbook which she did. I wrote everything for her and told her to send the New check to the manager because the money was too huge.

I tore the check she signed earlier and explained to her at the bank that even if she walked up to the cashier to cash out her money, he would ask her to go see the manager.

She agreed and handed me her dressing bag just to make sure i waited for her before she meandered through the crowd to the manager’s office.

I didn’t bother because i was in a line which was moving at a snail’s pace.I was very graceful because she trusted me that much that she handed her hand bag with me.

I checked inside the bag she handed to me to see for myself if she had was not carrying anything suspicious.

She had an iphone 5s and some few dollars in her bag. Did this lady try to test my conscience by giving me such a bag.

I had to prove her wrong. After all i was not a thief.I knew that that was my chance to prove to her that i was no fraud. My conscience told me to run away with the bag that very moment.
