After one week of mourning he got back to his feet and life started normally again. he brought out the documents to the land stares at it for some moments, put it back and left for Mazi Ude’s house. on getting to the house he met the late mazi’s wife and the following conversation ensued.


Elder Ochi: Ugodiya how are you?
Ugodiya: am fine just that i cant stop thinking about my late husband and son..
Elder Ochi: i know that you’re still recovering from the tradegy. its hard to forget, i know that very well but i pray that God will console you and be your husband..
Ugodiya: amen o. so what brought you here this early morning?
Elder Ochi: you remember one year ago your husband borrowed money from me using his 3 plots of land as collateral.
Ugodiya: yes i remember.
Elder Ochi: i dont want to be a wicked type so i brought this token for you to be managing yourself since your husband couldn’t pay the money on time.


he handed her an envelope. containing some amount of money…

Elder Ochi: that is 20, 000. manage it to take care of yourself.
Ugodiya: thank you very much you are such a nice man.
Elder Ochi: Emmm less i forget. the land now belongs to me.
Ugodiya: shocked; you mean you are taking the only property that my husband left? what am i going to use in taking care of my daughter and myself?
Elder Ochi: well, i dont care how you go about that, i have played my part after all am not the one that asked your husband to borrow what he cannot pay neither was i the one that killed him.
Ugodiya: please elder you cant do this to me.

please i beg you in the name of God.

Elder Ochi: my dear thats church money we’re talking about, how do you expect me to pay back the money.
Ugodiya: (now sobbing bitterly) please hear the cry of a widow.
Elder Ochi: you can suit yourself. as for me, am done here, bye’’’’’ he left without even looking back.


it seems the week ran so fast. its sunday already and Elder Ochi woke up as early as 5:30am. they had their usual morning devotion conducted by Chioma their last born.


after the devotion, they prepared and went to church. they were the first members that arrived.. the service going fantastically until the preacher of the day mounted the pulpit for sermon.. he treated a topic titled “evil doers in the church”. to all the members it was a very fantastic lesson but to the first Elder it was’t. it seems the preacher choose that topic because of him.


He went home that day very angry.. the next day that preacher met the end of his life. who and what killed him no body knows…


Two months later Elder and pastor’s wife arranged for another wonderful outing. they also gave their usual reason but this time around the pastor refused to let his wife go anywhere. now he is becoming a stumbling block to them.


Elder Ochi: (in his inner room) this pastor has beaten more than he can chew. i need to teach him a lesson of his life. i have never been disappointed like this before. me Elder Ochi? no i must act fast…………….


hmmmmm the pastor is in big trouble o, lets hope that God will be by his side, if not he will see his ear with his eyes
