That same day at the hospital, Jayjay had taken the rest of his family for lunch at the hospital cafeteria, after the lunch, Jayjay went into his father’s room first only to find him conscious with a nurse by his side, doing some check ups.
Mr. Agaba: (calmly) my son.
For the very first time in Jayjay’s life he pitied his father.

Jayjay: (hugging him and shedding tears) Dad, am glad you are okay.
Mr. Agaba: me too, i thought i will never see you again.
Jayjay: Dad, dont say that again, you will not loose me dad.
Mr. Agaba: Son, I am sorry for everything i have done to you, don’t think am using the condition i am in now to get sympathy from you, i am truly sorry for everything.
Jayjay: Dad, it is okay, i have forgiven you a long time ago, i just did want to show it.
Mr. Agaba: thanks son…(for the first time in years father and son embraced each other warmly)
They were like that without even realizing that the Nurse had gone and left them alone, until someone cleared throat from the doorway.
Jayjay: (turns to see his step mum) Mum, you are here?
Step mum: yes, i think i should leave already, i can see that the two of you are doing something important.
Jayjay: No, stay, Dad needs you around. Where are they?
Step mum: just outside.
Mr. Agaba: who?
Jayjay: Dad, there are some people that i want you to see.
Step mum: Jay, do you think it is the best time.
Jayjay: i guess so.
Mr. Agaba: i don’t follow, who are you people talking about?
Jayjay: Dad, don’t worry about that, Just prepare to meet some people important.
Mr. Agaba: okay, am prepared.

He went out and came in with just his mum.
Mr. Agaba: what? Beatrice, what are you doing here.
Jayjay’s Mum: i can leave now if you want, i only came because Onyi asked me to come.
Jayjay: dad, i thought you were supposed to be excited about this.
Mr. Agaba: you will not understand.
Jayjay: then make me understand.
Jayjay’s Mum: this is not the time for that.
Mr. Agaba: i think it is…..(to Jayjay) i pray you still forgive me after this.

Jayjay: i will, just say what you want to say.

Mr. Agaba: 24 years ago, my friends and me, went out to celebrate the victory of getting rid of one of our competitior from school and we got drunk and something happened.
Jayjay: (curious) what happened?
Mr. Agaba: out of the excitement, i did the unthinkable to a young ambitious female student.
Jayjay: Dad, please just get straight to the point.
Mr. Agaba: i raped a young girl.
Jayjay: you mean, you raped my mum.
Jayjay’s Mum: son, it’s all in the past now.
Mr. Agaba: yes, and i regretted it when i became sober, so after you were born and i graduated, to clear my conscience, i married her but after three years we couldn’t stay together anymore, as she kept having nightmares about the rape.
Jayjay: mum, dad, tell me this is not true.
Step Mum: Jay, unfortunately, its the truth.
Mr. Agaba: am sorry son, your mum and i seperated because we wanted to, not because i was wicked or anything, it was for her own good.
Jayjay’s Mum: son, take heart, but it is all in the past now, no need to cry over spit milk.
Jayjay: yeah, no need for that, i understand.
Mr. Agaba: so you are easily letting this go?
Jayjay: yes i am, my mum has already forgiven you, who am i not to forgive you.
Mr. Agaba: thanks son.
Jayjay: okay dad, there’s one more person you need to meet.
Mr. Agaba: okay.

Jayjay went out and came in with Martha.
Mr. Agaba: is she your girlfriend.
Jayjay: (smiles) i wish, but no dad, she is your daughter.
Mr. Agaba: you mean Ebere?
Martha: yes sir, good evening sir.
Mr. Agaba: i can’t believe this, you are all grown up, c’mon atleast give dad a hug.
She went closer and hugged her father, who began shedding tears of joy.
Mr. Agaba: i have always longed to see this day.
Step mum: now, its here.
Mr. Agaba: i thank God for that. Beatrice i am sorry i never looked for her, i didn’t want to open up old wounds.
Beatrice: it’s okay, i understand.
Mr. Agaba: she is now a big girl.
Jayjay: yes dad.
Mr. Agaba: once i leave here, we are going to throw a big party to celebrate this, Beatrice hope you are comfortable with that?
Beatrice: yes i am.

Mr. Agaba: i feel complete now.

Back at the boys apartment.
Tunde: our informant just called to tell us that the whole family are all inside the building.
Mr. B: that’s good, we can take out the entire family once then.
Tunde: unfortunately no, the place is surrounded by policemen.
Chinedu: maybe they suspect that Tony was murdered.
Tunde: you are right, i think you will need to restructure your plans for tomorrow’s attack.
Chinedu: how do you mean.
Tunde: lets see it this way, if they suspect that Tony was mudered and surrounded the hospital, that means they will protect the family members until they are sure that they have found the muderers.
Mr. B: that’s correct.
Tunde: that also mean that the three of us will work together tomorrow, if killing does not work then kidnapping will work.
