Still at the hospital, the following day.
Jayjay is seen outside the hospital room making a call to a very familiar person.
Jayjay: well, it came as a shock but i had no other option, it is in the past now, I can’t believe i was gotten through rape.
Lor’d V: Jay, take heart, and just as you said, it’s all in the past now, forget it and try to move on with your life, we cannot rewind the hands of the clock.
Jayjay: you are right, thanks Capon.
Lor’d V: you are welcome, how is your dad doing now?
Jayjay: he is fine now, he is getting ready to be discharged.
Lor’d V: that’s good, how about the police investigations, have they come up with anything tangible.
Jayjay: so far, so good, nothing, the only thing they have been able to do was to ascertain that the man that murdered the gateman did not commit suicide but rather he was murdered.
Lor’d V: we will just be patient, am sure they will come up with something good very soon.
Jayjay: I hope so too.
Lor’d V: I’ve got to go now, too many paperworks piled up on my desk here.
Jayjay: don’t complain cos very soon your dad will retire and you will be the one managing the company.
Lor’d V: before that time, i would have prepared very well for the task ahead.
Jayjay: alright, how is V.
Lor’d V: she is doing fine, i can’t wait for the semester to be over so i can surprise her, i already have everything perfectly planned out.
Jayjay: (laughs) that’s my boss, see you later then.
Lor’d V: bye.

Back at the female hostel in UNN, Nkechi and Vanessa are quite moody.
Nkechi: this room feels so empty without her.
Vanessa: it is very obvious, we should have followed them to Abuja.

Nkechi: that will be too much, we will miss so many lectures and even tests.
Vanessa: you are right, but how will she cope when she returns? She has already missed out on lots of things, starting from when she was shot by those guys to leaving the school and going to meet her father.
Nkechi: i can imagine, i would have loved to see the look on her face when she finally sees her father.
Vanessa: am sure it will be awesome, lets stop imagining and call her.
Nkechi: that’s true, we haven’t called her since she arrived Abuja.
Vanessa took her phone and dialled Martha’s number and after it rang for awhile, Martha picked up and they talked for sometimes, Martha was very excited as she spoke to her friends and they talked and talked about alot of things and they later ended the call after about ten minutes.
Nkechi: i guess she is even doing better than we imagined.
Vanessa: you are right, meeting her father after so many years, i am so happy for her.
Nkechi: me too.
Vanessa: yeah, i want to go to the library now, should i wait for you or i should leave.
Nkechi: i am so tired, i will sleep first before coming to the library, bye.
Vanessa: (packing her books and walking out) bye, see you when you come.

Jayjay: Dad, i just came back from the doctor’s office.
Mr. Agaba: and?
Jayjay: (smiles) he said you can leave now.
Mr. Agaba: am so happy, i never liked hospital at all.
Jayjay: (smiles) that’s not hard to guess, he said that he will be coming over to check you once every week until you are fine.

Mr. Agaba: that’s good, let’s go home then, the women are waiting.
Jayjay: yes dad.
Jayjay helped his father to the car and they drove off, with police escorts following them.

The guys were already preparing to strike when Tunde received a call, which lasted for about five minutes before he it ended.
Tunde: change of plans guys.
Mr. B: what? Why?
Tunde: we just got an easy way out.
Chinedu: how?
Tunde: well, our police informant, just called me to inform me that Mr. Agaba and his son just left the hospital.
Chinedu: that’s good, we could take them out easily if we hurry up and block their path.
Tunde: that won’t be necessary, cos they are having a party this evening, kind of a family reunion, it will be more fun to ruin everything.
Chinedu: (smirks) sounds fun.
Tunde: Chief also called this afternoon to tell me about Mr. Agaba’s daughter.
Mr. B: does he have a daughter?
Tunde: i just found out too.
Chinedu: am surprised.
Tunde: well, chief said we should kill Jayjay this night and also kidnap the girl, that he will be coming over to see her.
Mr. B: not killing her but kidnapping her, am confused here.
Tunde: i was also surprised when he said it, i thought he wanted to wipe out the entire family, why would he want us to kidnap the girl and he will also waste his time to come and see her.

Chinedu: maybe he has feelings for the girl?
Mr. B: i think so too.
Tunde: nah, chief is not like that, he talked as if the girl was someone dear to him, he said he shouldn’t even see a scratch on the girl’s body.
Chinedu: i just hope its not want am thinking.
Mr. B: what is that?
Chinedu: he loves her.
Tunde: if you say so.
Chinedu: did he decribe the girl for you.
Tunde: yes, he said you know her, that she was your former schoolmate, her name is Martha.
Chinedu: what? how is that possible?
