I have always been a believer of numbers. In my world, three people are supposed to have the dominant voice when compared to one voice.

A guy shouldn’t hold three people captive no matter who he is.

Skipo was already sniffing life out of my body when my ‘supposed’ saviour showed up unarmed.

“whats happening here?” philip asked. I was relieved to see him, atleast he was also going to share in my problem, afterall a problem shared is a problem half solved. Skipo turned slowly, still holding me by my neck. He faced philip and laughed.

“See who decided to crash the party, the one and only mr fresher” skipo mocked.

“who you be?” philip asked.
He didn’t recognise the face or maybe he was high on girls.

“Okay let me give you a brief reminder” skipo said moving close to philip. In a split second, a slap landed on his face. Kpoaaaa!!!!
Philip held his face and bowed down his head.

I could smell his tears, dont ask me how i did it. Just spend one week with my dad and you will know the smell of tears.

“You don remember abi make i give you another reminder?” he asked philip.

That slap was enough to open even the dullest brain, i was used to that kind of slap no wonder i was a bright student or so i used to think.
Everybody in my class back then saw me as a brilliant student because anytime the teacher trows a question to the students, my hands would be the first to go up. The teacher would think i know the answer so instead of pointing me, he/she would point anybody whose hands were Down. I continued my trick until one day when my maths teacher decided to see who this ‘intelligent student’ in his class was.

“Okay kelvin help us with this question” he said and went to write an equation i had never seen in my life. The equation was as long as a train.

I looked behind me to see if there was another kelvin behind me. I only saw the ‘Adamu’s’ the ‘mofos’ and the ‘olofofos’ smiling. In their minds they’ll be like ‘God don catch am today, make e answer am make we see na”
“Sir, is it me?” i asked still suprised.
“is there another kelvin in this class? Its you na” he replied me.

“sir, but i raised my hand na” i complained.

“thats why i decided to choose you na, i want to you to represent our school in the olympiad competition” he informed me.

I pictured myself representing my school in a competition, dem go beg for last dem no go see.
I smiled at my foolishness.
“Sir, lets use archimedes principle” i foolishly said.

“You are a big fool, you want to use archimedes principle, did i tell you i wanted to calculate upthrust?”

He called me outside and gave me six strokes of the cane for failing his question. The class laughed at me. Na that day i know say i get plenty enemies. Since then, anytime any teacher ask a question, i always bow my head.
Back to the present, philip held his face.
The skipo was backing me so i quickly found a brick and broke it on his head. We quickly took to our heels only to be blocked by two hefty boys.
The skipo slowly got up, blood Was on his head.
“take them inside” he commanded.

He was furious. I remembered Amaka, i just hope she transfers her blackmail brain into helping me.

The two hefty boys dragged us into philips room. Musa was still sleeping, one of the boys removed his belt and flogged musa.

“Wayo Allah, i go kill you” he shouted and jumped from the bed.

“You go kill me? ” the guy asked.

Musa cleaned his eyes and when he saw the unknown faces he calmed down.

“Guy where the television wey dem give you?” skipo asked philip.

“Bros, i swear dem never give me” philip replied with shaky voice.

“sparko, oya carry that dvd make we dey go” skipo commanded.

The guy with the belt went to carry the Dvd but immediatelly he touched the DVD, the dvd shocked him. Philip’s DVD was just like my father’s television. The DVD has its own hand glove, if you touch it without the handgloves, it would shock you.

“Sparko, wetin you dey do like that? Abeg commot make i carry am joor” skipo barked.

He moved towards the dvd and immediately he placed his hand on it, he quickly removed it.

“Oya stand up” he commanded philip. Philip quickly stood up.

“go carry that dvd” he shouted.

Philip wanted to carry the handgloves but sparko stopped him.

He had no choice than to carry it with his bare hands.

He summoned all his courage and grabbed the dvd.

“Good, oya start follow me” skipo shouted.

The dvd was vibrating philip, na then i know say electric shock davido before him invent skelewu dance.
“senior, where are you Taking my friend to?” i asked.

The skipo just turned and said “we go send him dead body tomorrow morning”. He gave a wicked laugh and b@nged the door.
