Mummy was crying while Daddy tried to
console her. She seemed inconsolable so
Daddy came to me and was begging me to
help console my Mother, I asked what was
wrong with her and Daddy said someone came and stole her jewelries, I told daddy to help her purchase another set of Jewelries but daddy declined.

He said the missing Jewelries cannot be bought in the Market. So what do we do I
asked him. He shouted back at me; get the
missing jewelries Derby! You were careless!

Make sure the missing Jewelries are found!

But Daddy! I countered: The Jewelries were
not given to me! There were given to Carol!

Both of them looked at me and shouted:

Go back and get our jewelries back to us!

They kept shouting till they faded away. I tried to follow them but they vanished from my sight.

I heard distant voices murmuring, I sniffed the
air and the smell was like ethanol, I sneezed,
my head ached, I mourned as I opened my
eyes. Everywhere was foggy; I could make out
moving figures hovering over me. I heard
someone said: She has come around, call the
Doctor! I was feeling very weak and drowsy. I
felt myself falling down from a cliff into an
unending abyss; the feeling was soothing so I
allowed myself to fall.

I heard voices from afar as I drifted back to
consciousness, it was like an argument.

Gradually the sounds became clearer and more audible. I felt pains all around me, my head ached, my chest was burning, I tried to open my eyes but my eye lids were very heavy, I tried to open my mouth and I couldn’t. I relaxed and went down memory lane to recap what had happened to me. I remembered everything except how I got to where I was.

But with the smell around me, I knew it must
be a hospital.
