Must Read: Confessions Of A Randy Houseboy

”Etim! ” I scream ”Why did you eat it!” He is chewing the last
piece of fish and with his mouth full he replies,
”You people in this house waste food too much.

How would you
just put this kind of food on the sink to be washed away when I
am hungry” He belched and grinned at me, ”very delicious!” By
now I am almost going crazy. I make an effort to pull myself
together. The speed with which these things are happening
makes me dizzy! I can still hear the Prophet chanting, ”They will
fall into the pit they have dug for you!” I want to tell madam the
latest but I am afraid of the prophet. I just stand there staring at
Etim petrified .

There and then I decide to runaway before the poo hits the fan!

The only person who knows me to my home is the same Etim
who is already yyon deaths doorway . I leave Etim who is
washing plates and go to my room to pack . I realize I have only
one hour. I will not even tell madam anthing. I brave it thru the
parlour to my room. But after packing I cant leave becos they are
still in the parlour. I wait in agonizing suspense and 2 hours
crawl past ! I know all is lost. I sit there clutching my bag too
frightened to make any move. By now Etim should be dead! The
native doctor assured us the medicine would kill in one hour.

Tears stream down my face. I remember how Etim came to pick
me from the village and brought me to Lagos, now see how I
have repaid him! What will I tell my people? It is all like a
nigtmare!! I feel trapped! I am still thinking all this when my door
flies open and a beaming Etim informs me that Oga wants to see
me! I almost jump out of my skin! By now it is hors after, Etim
has no right to be alive! ”You!” I gasp!

”Shut up!” Etim snaps. Irritated with me as usual.
”Oga says I should call you. The prophet man wants to see you.

What is wrong with you!”.

I cringe against the wall. The thought of facing the ”Prophet
man” is even more frightening than seeing Etim.

But Etim is not having any of that rubbish, he shoves me into the
parlour without much ado.

”You!” The prophet howls as soon as he sees me ,
”you need deliverance.” I back away from him in utter terror and
run into Etim, solid as a rock. Etim pushes me into the middle of
the parlour and screams,
”Kneel, you Devil!!”
